Top 3 are right where they belong, with RU a legit #4. Nobody's played the schedule Georgetown has, although Penn's 2 games are right there. Michigan's schedule really doesn't justify #16, although the biggest joke in the poll is Syracuse. I think we'll get a better idea of UM's strength with Delaware on Saturday.

Syracuse ranking is a joke.
Have to keep them ranked high so it helps the rest of the ACC when they lose to all of those teams. When is the last time that an ACC team was not ranked? All 5 in the top 14 WOW that is simply crazy. Duke has 2 losses and ranked 10

It is going to be a fascinating week:

Army @ Syracuse on Tuesday

Saturday
Princeton @ Georgetown
Maryland @ Notre Dame (who only plays away games vs. ACC teams)
UVA @ Hopkins
Penn @ Penn St.
Cornell @ Ohio St.

Things should become clearer. The ACC voting contingent may have a problem on their hands. Depending on how things work out you may have 5 B1G teams worthy of Top 15 as well as 4 Ivy teams. The only thing the selection committee likes more than screwing the Big 10 is screwing the Ivy League. Maybe not the ACC. How do they keep the Big 10 to 2 bids and the Ivies to 1? Give Syracuse a bogus rating to bump up the SOS.

It wouldn't shock me. Army has the best attackman on the field and Uva showed how to defend Syracuse.

Slide to #23 making him distribute, and just play every other dude straight up with late slides if need be.

Sarah's entire offense is based on them being better than you. But they aren't.

And their D leaves a lot to be desired if you ask me. For all the love Petro gets, his defenses for several years now have gotten lit up regularly.

The game is in that trash bag dome which isn't an easy place to play. They do play better there. Should be a tight game but Army has the advantage IMO. I also don't see any of Sarah's middies consistently beating Army shorties.

Would love to see Princeton knock off Georgetown before we play them.

Small sample size, but Princeton looked very good against Maryland They had a chances to really make that even closer than it was.

Either way, I hope those two teams beat the **** out of each other.

So what do the board lacrosse experts expect will happen in these games? My amateur uninformed view:

Army takes down Syracuse

Georgetown over Princeton
Maryland over ND
Virginia over JHU (a win here would be HUGE for the B1G)
Penn comfortably over PSU
Ohio State over Cornell

Agree with the possible exception of PSU. Had them left for dead till they beat Yale. Now I'm not sure

The B1G season is going to be an absolute dogfight. It's the best conference in the country right now.

Army takes down Syracuse Nichtern and Army's ride takes down the 'Cuse barring homer refs getting in the way

Georgetown over Princeton Georgetown, but how well Princeton does against their 2nd Top 3 team gives an indication for the season
Maryland over ND Maryland, and if it's big the ACCs in trouble
Virginia over JHU (a win here would be HUGE for the B1G) Virginia easily, too athletic
Penn comfortably over PSU Evidently PSUs goalie was unconscious vs. Yale, unless there's a repeat Penn easily
Ohio State over Cornell Ohio St., and we find out how good Cornell is

Agreed. And if this week's games go favorably, the Ivies may be #2 this year.
Ivies are good to say the least. Yale, Princeton, Cornell, and Penn are all good teams. Brown isn't a pushover either and wouldn't be shocked if Harvard isn't as well.

Harvard is so damn young and talented that they may develop and move past Brown before the end of the season. Possibly 6 in the Top 20 before the end of the year. Dartmouth easily had the worst recruiting in the 2 pandemic years so it's going to be a rough year. Too bad, as Callahan finally had things progressing after replacing a coach from the Chris Ash School of Recruiting. Though not a Top 5, Hincks is a Top 15 goalie and might keep a few games close. FYI, he's a senior who has a covid year of eligibility after this year.

I never understood why Columbia doesn't have a team. They have a women's team and I think men's lax would be a rare sport that CU would be good in due to the lax talent of the NYC metro area.

It's Columbia. They don't have a hockey team either.

Title 9 probably. If they create a men's team, they are going to have to create another women's. team. It's expensive.

The other Ivies have both hockey and lacrosse. Some ditched wrestling, which Columbia has, but it's more than Title IX.

Beat Stony Brook. I’m keeping it on point for now 😉

PS...Michigan being ranked where they are makes it hard to take these rankings seriously

The Big Ten and Ivy League might very well be the two best. But we all know that on selection day, the ACC will get their usual preferential treatment.

But of a nit pick, but not sure how a Penn team that lost to G’town and squeaked past a Duke team that already lost to J’ville warrants getting ranked ahead of an OSU squad that mudholed UNC for their only loss.

Cuse being anywhere in the top 20 is a joke. Not sure what ND has done besides being over rated in pre season to warrant a top 10 ranking. Michigan should be unranked simply as punishment for their ridiculous schedule.

The probably have more money. Columbia doesn't seem like the type of school who cares about sports compared to some of it's peers.

I would have a hard time believing they are under the title 9 limit and can add a stand alone men's sport. I would have a hard time believing any school is for that matter.

Columbia is the one Ivy that like you said, doesn't care about athletics. I feel like every other Ivy at least tries to take athletics seriously...Dartmouth might be the one other Ivy that struggles athletically mainly because of their obscure location in New Hampshire, away from the I-95 corridor.

Why doesn't BC have a team? I thought they did at one point. That would give the ACC a 6th team and make the ACC legit.

Actually Dartmouth football is normally upper tier in the league. And other programs are competitive. Of course the ski team has put representatives in every Winter Olympics since they were created, The problems with lacrosse are 2. Speaking of winter, if you think February starts are tough, try it in Central New Hampshire. The other is that men's lacrosse has been seen as an an opportunity for retribution by an admissions office frustrated by dealing with the football and hockey teams.

SB has a few nice pieces. It will be a good test.

On a more somber note, @rbled @rufamily, I am not sure if you heard or not, but Coach Hayes is not doing great. Feel free to reach out directly for more details if needed.

Title 9 isn’t about the number of sports. It’s about the amount of money you spend on each gender.. If you have football you have more womens sports.

Marquette is terrible too.

Barley squeaked by another terrible team in Bellarmine and then lost to Utah and Jacksonville.

I don't think I've ever seen a major conference team with a schedule as weak as Michigan's. It's embarrassing.

Marquette's is an absolute joke too.
