Didn’t Gard call timeout with 18 secs left and up 14 points? Howard may have objected to that.Looked to me like Gard just wanted to explain his thinking.
Yes, but in response to Howard’s decision to have his starters press Wisconsin’s backups. Going to do that, fine? But don’t object when the other team responds in kind.Didn’t Gard call timeout with 18 secs left and up 14 points? Howard may have objected to that.
Gard was the root cause technically, getting physical with Howard and not letting Howard walk away. Howard kept telling him not touch him and he kept it physical. Howard with the big no no obviosuly gonna walk away with the big punishment deservedly so
He called TO because Michigan pressed their backups/walk-ons while down 14.Didn’t Gard call timeout with 18 secs left and up 14 points? Howard may have objected to that.
I see a parallel to the play Howard had Michigan run on their last possession against RU. McConnell got caught in a hard screen by Dickinson. So it’s ok for his team to play to the buzzer in a game that was out of reach but not ok for Gard to coach his scrubs to the end.Didn’t Gard call timeout with 18 secs left and up 14 points? Howard may have objected to that.
Getting physical? He stopped him to talk. No excuse for Howard.Gard was the root cause technically, getting physical with Howard and not letting Howard walk away. Howard kept telling him not touch him and he kept it physical. Howard with the big no no obviosuly gonna walk away with the big punishment deservedly so
Yes if someone doesn’t want to talk to you and instead you physically stop them to talk, and keep impeding their progress when they try to leave and continually ask you not to touch them, that qualifies.Getting physical? He stopped him to talk. No excuse for Howard.
To top it off, Howard escalated the whole thing and his players took his lead. There will be multiple players suspended on Michigan for throwing punches. No way to defend what Howard did.Getting physical? He stopped him to talk. No excuse for Howard.
All on Howard! Similar d*ck move trying to hurt Caleb at end of RU game.He called TO because Michigan pressed their backups/walk-ons while down 14.
His players took his lead? Did you watch the recent videos? To top it off, Howard escalated the whole thing and his players took his lead. There will be multiple players suspended on Michigan for throwing punches. No way to defend what Howard did.
But no one excuses Howard for what he ended up doing so there’s that.No matter how some try to spin it , Howard acted like a sore loser that was out of control.
Trying to blame someone else for Howard's action just absolves him from being the type of leader College players can look up to.
Gard did grab Howard a bit, but that doesn't excuse what followed later and the HC being at the end of post game handshake line isn't the usual place HC are at.
Howard put himself in a position to cause trouble and went out of control the moment Gard made sure he didn't ignore him .
When game is down to the final seconds you don't press, Howard had his team press and Gard made sure his players didn't commit a turnover in the last seconds of game.
No press, ho timeout.
Didn’t Gard call timeout with 18 secs left and up 14 points? Howard may have objected to that.
Didn't you post:But no one excuses Howard for what he ended up doing so there’s that.
Some men, you just can't reachWhat we have here is a failure to communicate.
Well done. This should get a lot of likesIf Howard is going to slap someone for calling a timeout, it should’ve been Chris Webber!
So wait are you saying that is ok for Howard to slap or punch someone because they "physically" stopped him to talk after Howard started the conversation by saying " I will remember that".Yes if someone doesn’t want to talk to you and instead you physically stop them to talk, and keep impeding their progress when they try to leave and continually ask you not to touch them, that qualifies.
Juwan ignored him at the hand shake line.
Didn’t Howard call a blind pick down 10 with 10 seconds left against us? Can’t have it both ways?Didn’t Gard call timeout with 18 secs left and up 14 points? Howard may have objected to that.
His players took his lead? Did you watch the recent videos?
Around 20 second mark a kid for Wisconsin and possibly another teammate put some Michigan guys on the floor and then they retaliated. This is not just in Michigan in fact it’s mostly in Wisconsin. The end result is on Howard.
That is the worst take of any I heard on this subject. If you have an ounce of class or dignity as a head coach at the highest level of college athletics you shake your opponents hand after they handed your *** to you and you move on and try to get better.Yes if someone doesn’t want to talk to you and instead you physically stop them to talk, and keep impeding their progress when they try to leave and continually ask you not to touch them, that qualifies.
Awful by Michigan AD!! He should be gone too! “Instigating factors”. WTF!
Gard was not the root cause. Attempting to blame Gard is chicken ****. He attempted to speak to Howard and explain why he called the timeout with only seconds on the clock. Howard ‘s past issues will come up and Michigan needs to suspend him tomorrow. The fact that Howard swung at the assistant is simple assault . His team was looking to follow his poor example at leadership. All things aside I would expect a counter claim against Gard by the Michigan AD.Gard was the root cause technically, getting physical with Howard and not letting Howard walk away. Howard kept telling him not touch him and he kept it physical. Howard with the big no no obviosuly gonna walk away with the big punishment deservedly so
Lightly grabbing a coaches arm in a handshake line is normal. After Howard said don't touch me Gard let go and then Howard aggressively grabbed a handful of Gards shirt right under his neck and waved his finger right in his face.Gard was the root cause technically, getting physical with Howard and not letting Howard walk away. Howard kept telling him not touch him and he kept it physical. Howard with the big no no obviosuly gonna walk away with the big punishment deservedly so
Literally no one is arguing that lolPeople are really out here arguing that bc Gard touched Howard's arm that Howard can slap a different coach?
Both guys can be wrongThat is the worst take of any I heard on this subject. If you have an ounce of class or dignity as a head coach at the highest level of college athletics you shake your opponents hand after they handed your *** to you and you move on and try to get better.
This isn’t “someone doesn’t want to talk to you” this is two head coaches in a post game handshake line, treating it as anything more is just asinine.
Howard lacks class, lacks good sportsmanship, and lacks self control. I have a 2 minute video from my seat at the RAC following Michigan’s loss to RU. They can’t accept defeat with Grace. Howard was posing for photos while Diabate was in a complete melt down being restrained and dragged across the court by 3 staff members. If he was let loose I’m sure he wold have sucker punched someone or swung a chair. Our disabled fan in the wheel chair was nearly trampled. As Diabate left the court he was yelling at the stands “I’m going to fuking kill you.“ I share this because Howard did nothing to control his team. All is OK with this idiot in that situation.
Are you suggesting that Gard physically attacked Howard with intent or ability to inflict physical harm?Gard was the root cause technically, getting physical with Howard and not letting Howard walk away. Howard kept telling him not touch him and he kept it physical. Howard with the big no no obviosuly gonna walk away with the big punishment deservedly so
