In 2022? People will act like this is the equivalent of a murder being shown on national tv. In the 90’s this is your average tuesday.
1) it was a slap
2) its damnnnnn refreshing to see that not every basketball player/program is full of a soft culture where you wanna be best friends with your opponents.

This was nothing. Not one person ever landed a punch haha

Horrible take amongst many you have had

He was upset the Wisconsin coach called time out with 15 seconds left?

But it was okay for his team to continue playing at 100% just seconds earlier by stealing the ball and getting a layup!!??

The Wisconsin coach obviously wanted to avoid having his back-ups embarrassed again by making sure they knew what to do on the next in-bounds play. And THAT set Howard off?

What a major league d-nozzle he is. He didn't tell his team to stop playing but, apparently, the Wisconsin coach should have. Ridiculous.

Looks like Diabatw threw a punch also

Did you see Rutgers handle a win, we took a shot clock violation from 40-10 because the game was over. Didn't see Wisconsin do that up 16, 50 seconds left, no they took a 3 with 5 on the shot clock up 16. Bush league. That's why Howard extended the game with fouls. He was pissed from that.

Youve never been a competitor bac, you wouldnt be able to relate sir
Stop with the fake tough guy act, please. We get it, you're a man's man who thinks you should defend yourself physically at every turn. A timeout is a punchable offense. No one hurt means nothing happened. Sportsmanship is for losers. We get it. You're super cool.

Multiple players threw punches as well. Michigan is going to be a shell when we play them next week
Bingo. Diabate threw punches and will be disciplined by either Michigan or the league. He was the lunatic who had to be restrained by a few of his own players at the end of our game against them earlier this season. Definite anger issues, just like his coach.

LMAO. By that logic every handshake lineup would be guys throwing haymakers because they "hate to lose."

No one thinks this is murder, but what is your actual point? That throwing punches shouldn't lead to suspensions?

As long as these computers value win margin, etc you can’t argue if a team shoots.

You can be a competitor without being a dirtbag. Howard is a dirtbag. He throws a punch (slap, whatever You want to call it) then a few of his players do the same. Great example of a “Michigan man”
The guy who got slapped deserved it. Watch the video again

How is anyone defending Howard here by saying this is soft culture?
First off, these end of game shenanigans are starting to become too common for Michigan.
Second, the coach can’t lay their hands on someone like that. Can’t do it. Notice how Diabate immediately starting throwing punches the second he saw Howard take a swing?
Michigan continues to embarrass themselves

Call him a cupcake before he does to you. Then he'll challenge you to a live stream because, you know, he needs prove he's an intellectual.

Yeah, coaches never used to get into trouble for laying hands on the other team. The blue bloods get away with whatever they want (sarcasm). He would have been fired back in the day... He should be fired now.

Here’s the context. Gard called a timeout very late up double digits to get some scrubs in the game. Juwan Howard took exception. Didn’t go straight to shake hands with Gard as the buzzer sounded, but got in the handshake line eventually. When he and Gard got together, Howard lowered his mask to let Gard know he didn’t appreciate the time out (I’m sure it was more of the ‘f you’ variety). Gard looked like he tried to talk to him and Howard lost it. Tussle ensues, Howard throws an open hand right at a Wisconsin assistant coach, and it got worse from there. Looks like a couple Michigan players may have thrown punches as well.

Also, we play @Michigan next.

so he called time out for the purpose of getting his subs in? Who gives a ****. It isn’t like he drew up a play to make it 17.
Howard needs to be do e

I played competitive sports my entire life and have been accused of having competitive issues but I've never thrown punches in a handshake line lol come on man
