No - he wasn’t saying why we “shouldn’t” get in. He was saying why we are currently not yet in, and that we have a little work to do. Big difference.Totally agree. He says he "hopes we make it in" at the beginning of the story, then spends the other 99 percent of the piece making his case as to why we shouldn't get in.
The only teams out of the nine you list that are locks are Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. MSU is close to a lock, but they’ve looked bad recently, and if they continue to falter, they could play their way out.I just asked a question in another thread that probably was more appropriate for this one. How many teams will the B1G get in the tournament? This will not go chalk down the stretch and if top teams keep beating the other are we stealing spots from other leagues or from ourselves? Recently I saw a list that had 7 conference teams. Is there room for an 8th?
Purdue, Illinois, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State are all in pretty good shape
Rutgers, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa. Could three of the four get in? Michigan's overall record would indicate they have work to do but are trending up right now. Agree with those who think we need to find three more wins to feel good about our chances.

People are way too sensitive around here. That was about as positive an article that you’re ever going to get from a non-RU writer, let alone a Penn State writer.
LOL. Like I said, people are too sensitive around here.It wasnt positive and our fanbase does not need an article from a Penn State beat reporter mansplaining how the ncaa tournament works
Waahhhh.Stop..the writer acted like we needed to be lectured to
Okay but in this case - the point your trying to make doesn’t seem applicable. 11 of Nebraska’s 13 wins that year were not against Michigan or Penn State or the 3 better teams in the conference. It wasn’t a situation where the conference had teams that struggled OOC like RU and then collected good wins in conference. The rest of the teams were consistently bad the whole season - and those were the wins on Nebraska’s resume .My point is how a conference is perceived isn’t always reality. If B1G had 14 teams like RU we would be 7th or 8th conference on paper yet really be the best or 2nd best conference. Strength of a conference is almost cemented in December.
this article was positive? Are you F'n kidding me?Waahhhh.
This is the same type of over sensitivity people have toward Politi. The guy is a columnist who has to have an “angle.” Aside from the “Rutgers fans are a bit naive in matters of the Bubble” angle, the column was positive and realistic. Frankly no more realistic than you are in your bacatology analysis about Rutgers’ chances.
My last word on the subject, though. Today is not about us bickering over a Penn State writer. It is about all of Scarlet Nation coming together in unison to root on our Scarlet Knights. LFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
