I had no idea Nebraska sported 13-5 in conference record with 22 wins and was snubbed.
Same with PSU with with over 20 wins and 10-8 in conference.
Sobering!
Gotta keep this going

Sigh. He makes some good points. And man just looking at the record it is insane that that 2018 Nebraska team got snubbed. Just WOW.

That is 100% irrelevant, the B1G as a league was nowhere near where it ranks now. Nebraska was a 4 seed in the NIT and had no chance to dance at any point during that season. Bad and inaccurate article.

This is very true. We could be 16-14 very quickly. Tough conference. PSU is not Nebraska

We can’t dispute any of his points, which is why unfortunately November’s horrific month should never have happened

Everyone should read this article. The fact that all of these bracket experts have us in today but only as an 11 seed tells you just how bad our resume was only two weeks ago. And, while we have fans guaranteeing we’re already in (how odd with 5+ games left) I’ve been saying that it matters who we beat as much as how many we win. We cannot lose to PSU, Michigan and Indiana because one of them is a bad loss and the other 2 are competing with us for a spot.

So, as the article says, no pats on the back. Keep winning

its incredibly condescending article and i didnt appreciate him calling us naive....while some points are fair, the tone is the typical of journalists.'

I think the guy went to great lengths to try and **** on us
Agreed. Stopped reading here for multiple reasons: “Further exacerbating matters is the relative naivete of the RU fan base. They have never gone through a true bubble sweat before.”

Lol no one is saying RU is a lock..this article can be written for 17 other schools projected in the field

Of course you to have to win more games

Explaining Nebraska again, Nebraska finished 22-9, first round loss in the B1G tournament. The last year of the RPI and Nebraska went 0-9 vs group1(start of the NET format H1-30,N1-50,R1-75), I think their best win Group 2 was 39 Michigan and 66 Maryland, both home. Road 4-8, Best Road win 104 NW. They had no resume.

We've beaten 6 teams in the top 30, one on the road already, night and day.

I thought it was a very good and insightful article. Sure, a bit condescending toward Rutgers fans — stating that we’re naive in matters of The Bubble — but the guy knows our team and is rooting for us, and he got quotes from three of the leading bracketologists who know what they’re talking about.

Our players should read this — it’s sobering and makes clear that we need to keep the foot on the pedal.

Actually we do having fans saying they’re a lock. There were 2-3 threads after beating Illinois saying it’s done and we’re in.

They were 13-5 lol. How many teams were above them?
There were 3 above them and they tied with Michigan for 4th. They beat Michigan at home and that was their only win over a team in the field. It should also be noted that it wasn’t like they beat a bunch of decent bubble teams either. The only NIT team was Penn State (also at home). The conference was really weak that year.

Finally - I’m not one to focus on point margin but if there’s ever a time it should matter it’s in the opening BIG tourney round for a bubble team. It’s your last chance to make a case. Nebraska ended by laying a huge egg - 19 point blow out loss to Michigan (the one good team they beat).

It entirely highlighted the negatives instead of balancing our positives

I hate condescending so called journalists who wag fingers..thats what this was
He quoted 3 top bracketoligists...that's what's important about this story, not his style of writing

The way I read this is that he’s knocking the selection committee and the process, not knocking us. He’s saying RU deserves to be in, but because of the way the selections are done, we need to finish better than 11-9 or we’re bound to get our hearts broken (which he had seen up-close as a Penn State beat writer). Win one more road game and avoid a letdown against PSU, and we should be good to go.

you we're complaining about the writer only being negative... Frankly it was a decent article and the most important part of it were the three bracketologist opinions, not the writers positivity or negativity towards Rutgers.

Yeah, article had some great points…but a backhanded slap on everything he compliments about our team.

I guess his task when writing the article he charged with be being the anti “yes” man…even though all things point that RU gets in.

It’s a given that the season is not over and we get that…we have to keep winning…the players know that…nothings done yet…win the B10 outright and let the bracketologists pound sand!!
