Krimin and Zalinski did ok at C. If he gets here for spring ball he has time to adjust. I was looking at the "best 5" philosophy of lining them up.

Schiano was there 16-18, Jackson was there 2019.
You’re right about Jackson. It was my error — but presumably Schiano helped recruit him to OSU.
Schiano also had Cameron Stephenson drafted and many OL get free agent deals & looks
Holy crapola I forgot about Tunde Fatukasi. Yes add him to the list of kids in the pipeline.
This is exactly how I think about the OL going into spring ball, aplus. I can’t wait for spring practice and the Scarlet White game.

When you overbook as we have, it's not like the NFL where YOU decide who stays and who gets cut. We are going to lose a few players whom we would rather not lose.
If he’s ready then he is a big asset.If Reggie needs a break in period that’s ok too. Sutton is a competitor at the highest level and will continue his rehab and growth as a B1G lineman. It is however comforting to not only realize we have bodies but potentially good quality athletes in a position we were lacking in.
If Tunde Fatukasi or several others ” as you put it get scared off” then perhaps they didn’t belong here in the first place ? In this player’s case I hope he is like his brother and fights for playing time. Players will leave as they always have and for many different reasons. It is expected and Rutgers certainly is not impervious to attrition of even very good players. You deal with it and continue the journey.
I can't keep up with half of everything going on with the portal. But I'll just make my comments on your list which is pretty good.
QB- GW, Noah or Johnny Everything - I think Johnny everything sticks to Hback/TE we will see him as QB only on the short down plays. But yes, I feel it is GW's time from game 1.
RB- K Monangai, A Young or S Brown - I actually think this is a really good group. If healthy, KM may prove to be our best RB in a long time.
WR- S Jones, I Washington - We have a lot of 2's and 3's in this room. Need to find that special player at WR because GW will air it out and we need "that guy" - Losing Melton is huge because besides being "that guy" he was a beast in downfield blocking and breaking his route when the QB was in trouble.
WR- A Cruikshank, B Sanders
WR- S Ryan, J Youngblood
TE- Konopka, Johnny Everything - This will most likely be the depth chart but I feel Johnny plays more snaps as he plays himself into an NFL camp next year
LT- Raiqwon O’Neal, Hollin Pierce
LG- Ireland Brown, Kobe Asamoah
C- Gus Zilinskas, Bryan Felter
RG- C Dunlap, Reggie Sutton

The OL - Falls into the same area as the WR group at the moment. We have a lot of players who should/could be good enough to play acceptable in the B1G. We need to start finding at least 2 NFL OL to be starting every year. Are any of these guys NFL type players. If we find even 1 out of this group and the rest are at least average B1G players- we see our offense look completely different. If Greg keeps it up in the next couple of years with HS commits and portal players like this- we have a good chance of becoming an OLU again. Love the direction it is going- not sure if 2022 is enough yet.
It is extremely rare for any true freshman offensive linemen to come in and start week one, especially in the B1G. Allen will be 18 or 19 next season. All of these other guys are 21 or 22 and have had several years of college game experience and S&C . There is no need to put pressure on Allen or any of the other young bucks now. It won’t be easy with these transfers coming in but if any of the incoming freshmen prove that they are ready now and beat out an upperclassman for a job, more power to them. I am just glad that they won’t be forced into the starting lineup out of necessity because we don’t have any viable upperclassmen ahead of them.
Yea because he hasn’t played and was supposed to be in high school. Give him a spring and fall camp. He’s light years better than Verdral. Anyone really is.

As long as Pierce keeps he’s awesome upward trajectory, he’s in at RT.
I didn’t realize just how bad Sutton’s injury is, so he’s likely out for Spring. Sucks, because he was a FORCE in our first few games

100%. No doubt as long as Healthy DiRenzo, Tyler, and Dunlop start. These were guys getting offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, SEC, etc. Dunlop has like 15 games career starts for good MN team, Tyler was offered by Bama and DiRenzo had like 20 legit offers and is ranked like #10 portal impact player.
Sutton’ s surgery was in September.
He will have almost a full year of recovery/ rehab.
Unless it’s traumatic he should be back.
That is the point- we really don't know severe it is. I have seen major surgery on an OL ankle a few days after a bowl game and ready for summer practices and have seen major surgery on a player MCL which took a full year off and was never the same.

I too think GW has a very good chance to start and the thing I like most about Noah is he will make GW better by coaching him up and competing with him all offseason. I expect Noah to play this year and maybe even start but there will be a transition and I predict it will go smoothly.
Like you said earlier in this thread or maybe another one I just read, the whole Offense will be much better with the transfer OL and further development of those coming back. We will run the ball better and the QB will have more time and Gleeson will be able to call the plays he wants to call.

What I love is that in 10 years- I believe we actually see Noah as an established coach somewhere. I don't know how high or how far up the chain but this kid has it written all over him
