Too soon for this?

I predict Bac’s postgame will be titled: Pummeled in Piscataway.

Purdue - 103
Rutgers - 58

The press. If you watch last nights game, it is to press Purdue. FYI, I like Rutgers, I've had a few friends go to the school, and I grew up in NJ, but please don't press us on Thursday. 🙂
Hmmm, Iowa did cause 17 turnovers. I suppose Rutgers should press and try to get easy baskets (including open threes in transition) because I think Purdue will be able to close down the basket in the half-court.

I have no idea.. But Purdue could take it easy on us, we could play well, and still lose by 20. That's how big of a mismatch this is

You all sound like Purdue fans in 2013. We had no hope. I guess without Geo, I can understand. Can I say that I hope you play well without sounding like an a**hole?

Players do have pride after being embarrassed like that, this game will be close no matter what you predict in this thread.

2016-17 lost by 28 @ MSU, lost by 6 @ Iowa
2017-18 lost by 22 @ (22) Minn, lost by 10 vs (3) MSU
2017-18 lost by 31 @ (13) Purdue, won by 4 vs Wisc
**2017-18 lost by 31 @ UR illinois 60-91, lost by 2 (3) Purdue 76-78**
2018-19 lost by 35 @ Purdue, lost by 8 vs NW
2019-20 worst loss by 12 @ MSU, won vs Wisconsin and vs SHU 68-48

Even when we were an under .500 team the first 3 years, they always responded strong the next game after a blowout.

PS. UMass can legit shoot and will be top team in the A10, beat Harvard 87-77 today, shooting 15-29 from 3, 41% through 9 games (6-3).

UMass will not even be upper echelon team in A10.

No athletes to press lmao except our star freshman Miller who is a varsity high school player at best rn
Rutgers has a squad full of small forward/guards that are tall and could be effective in trapping and creating turnovers.Bottom line Rutgers doesn't have the talent/quickness to play man to man defense The status quo isn't the answer.

I believe RU will play very well and the RAC will be rocking. You never know.

Ironically, there were very limited seats/tix available today. I am pretty sure there aren’t a few thousand die hard Purdue fans in NJ who bought up all the tickets.

I paid $150 (after all the fees) for two seats in 207.

I think it will be ugly but I am taking a HS kid I mentor. And you never know…

To the people who think this game will be close, have you guys even seen Purdue’s bigs? Seriously, have you watched Purdue at all? We’re a rec team compared to them.

I think the final will be a single digit loss. We are a very odd team, the Clemson game proved that.

The difference may be many here were calling for Geo to be benched before he got injured.

Really, we are a mess. Then again, last time we were a complete mess.. vs UMASS.. we came back and buckled down and beat Clemson pretty well. Then again, Clemson is no Purdue.

I expect a better effort vs Purdue but what that means on the scoreboard is anyone's guess. At this point, I'll take some obvious sign of some kind of TEAM OFFENSE as a step in the right direction.

I also expect everyone from now on to guard Harper with a tall player so I hope to see RHJ use some speed and do dribble penetration with kickouts.. vs Illinois he was was just gonna shoot when he went to this and got swallowed up again and again.

Look despite the large population of idiots on this board who literally decide how good the team is by how they played in the most recent game (beat Clemson? things are fine! blown out by Illinois? we will go 0-20!) this team is not as bad as they looked against Illinois. They are also not, unfortunately, as good as they looked against Clemson. We are bad but not Jordan-level lose every game by 30 bad, people need to relax a bit.

The base case on this game is like Purdue 74, Rutgers 63

And along with their bigs, Purdue's 3 point shooters will probably wreak havoc on us too. The current Purdue starting lineup is 56-119 from 3 so far this year. 47%.

7'4" starter Zach Edey hasn't taken a 3 point shot yet, but the other four starters from 3 so far this season are Isaiah Thompson 14-23, 61%, Sasha Stefanovic 23-50, 46%, Caleb Furst 5-11, 45.5%, and Jaden Ivey 14-35, 40%...... 6'10" Trevion Williams had 18 rebounds off the bench the other night against Iowa, and is 2-4 from 3 for the season... Purdue is loaded.

Their bench can shoot too.. Of their primary five bench players who play significant minutes as part of Purdue's normal rotation, four of the five are also shooting over 40% from 3. That makes 8 of their primary 10 players shooting 40% or better from 3.
