Why would someone leak this?

Maybe it is sickening, but.... If we want to side with the players Greg Gard should not be coaching UW basketball. This is the quickest way to demonstrate.People should go to prison for secretly recording stuff. It is sickening that so many people do stuff like this. As if people don’t distrust others enough these days.
I hate Tom Izzo and the way he berates players in public. I am also not a Bob Huggins fan. This sounds like typical millennials who have a disconnect with the stricter "boomer" style of older generations. Today's coaches really need to learn how to give positive encouragement rather than constant negative reinforcement, as the millennials (as a general proposition) don't respond as well to criticism.
Maybe the guy who was passed over for a permanent job? I wonder where we have heard that before....Seems like the assistant coach who was let go in the offseason is the most likely to have leaked it.
So Eric Murdoch was on staff I see.Maybe the guy who was passed over for a permanent job? I wonder where we have heard that before....
I got a kick out of how the player “wasted a year of his life there”…lol. Big deal, people aren’t happy all the time. Crying because they don’t have “relationships” with their coaches. They all need therapy dogs. This sounds like typical millennials who have a disconnect with the stricter "boomer" style of older generations. Today's coaches really need to learn how to give positive encouragement rather than constant negative reinforcement, as the millennials (as a general proposition) don't respond as well to criticism.
I immediately thought of Murdoch too when I read about thisSo Eric Murdoch was on staff I see.![]()
Millennials are the generation currently aged 24-40 so there are not very many of them left in college these days. Gen Z is the group that is college age right now. This sounds like typical millennials who have a disconnect with the stricter "boomer" style of older generations. I'm not giving Gard a pass like a lot here seem to want to do. If SEVEN Seniors who have been that successful have a that big of a problem with the coach then he's doing something very wrong. At this point, it's hard to truly judge what the major malfunction is in absence of any specifics. I assume they'll be more to come once reporting kicks in.
Okay maybe I got the label wrong — who can keep track anymore? — but my point stands about the generational differences in the way younger people respond or don’t respond to criticism and praise.Millennials are the generation currently aged 24-40 so there are not very many of them left in college these days. Gen Z is the group that is college age right now.
Yep, and they're crybabies tooMillennials are the generation currently aged 24-40 so there are not very many of them left in college these days. Gen Z is the group that is college age right now.
Members of a generation without a sense of entitlementWhat are people that label 18-40 year olds?
I am not going to call them snowflakes, but they are members of an organization that probably over the past 4 years have lost 125 million dollars. An organization that caters to them and spends a ridiculous amount of money on.Players are snowflakes..they don't realize how good they have it
They must have hired Eric Murdoch to edit itOh i love edited tapes too
So transparent
Sorry to go on a bit of a tangent, but I always chuckle at the discussions of “this generation are a bunch of snowflake crybabies.” To those thinking that, ask which generation brought them up to become that way.
Agree, that’s part of it. But the shift towards helicopter parenting and a ‘my kid can do no wrong’ mindset sure doesn’t help.Much of it is because of social media
You might want to commend the players, but whoever recorded it and gave it to the press is downright WRONG, especially an edited version. The players had no right to put public a private conversation, unless Gard did something really "wrong or illegal" during that private conversation.I think I brought my kids up not to accept being disrespected. It doesn’t matter who it is. I commend the 7 guys for calling out their coach. They didn’t talk to a journalist. They said what they thought right to the coaches face.
I am vehemently against players monetarily benefitting from being an athlete while at school. However I am not in love with head coaches making 3,000,000. Players need to be treated with utmost respect. These 7 kids aren’t being soft. Brad Davison is not soft. A coach making 3,000,000 because you are making shots and treats you like a pawn on a chess board.
Depends. If it was the one where I bragged about the size of my turd a resounding YES.How would you like a private conversation that you were involved in in your office to be secretly recorded and made public?
Best of Luck,
Groz
Recognizing that this is a sports board and nobody cares about small mistakes here, but in case somebody might use this at work or something.....This sounds like typical millennials who have a disconnect with the stricter "boomer" style of older generations. It's a good thing they will never have to.Can you imagine any of these kids playing for Bob Knight?
