Nice win for UMd. The B1G goes 6-3 so far. But the B12 is still undefeated.

Go Abilene Christian!!!

I had never heard of GCU until I moved to Tucson in September 2017 and began noticing their basketball scores and the fact that some of their games were televised. But even more surprising was that they had a real fan base, with most of their games drawing upwards of 6000, which Arizona State just down the road wasn't drawing for most of their games (they've since done better attendance-wise). But I didn't realize that they were a religiously= school so perhaps they have something going on like Liberty and BYU do. They are in one of the smaller Western states conferences, which gives them a route to the NCAA.

They are in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix and is the 4th most populous county in the USA with well over 4 million people. So they do have a sizable population from which to draw their growing student body.
Just seems odd to me. They are terrible academically from what I can see online and they have some really good players on their team why wouldn’t they go to bigger name brand name schools with great academics. That guy blacksheer looked incredible out there. They are basically a large online university with a very ugly campus in Arizona. Does anyone take that degree seriously?

Degrees from for-profit schools, especially their online programs, just are not taken seriously. But them playing in the Tourney means they will get even more online students now... They actually tried to become "non-profit" but the Department of Education denied that request a couple of years ago.

Is anyone going to ask why the great Danny Hurley was waiting so long to foul? Apparently he didn’t watch our game last night.
Isn’t he making a coupe mil a year?

Every pass Gonzaga makes has intent - really impressive passing.
Yeah it’s like strangely deliberate Precision. Almost like they’re playing in slow motion but they’re playing very fast. My only analogy would be Keanu Reeves in the matrix when he can move extremely slow almost like he knows what’s gonna happen in advance. Haha

creighton should have lost today. Cheap foul at end. Big east and esp ACC overrated.
pac12 and big12 doing well, as well as sec minus volunteers
better day for B1G.

Lots of GCU fans here in Indy. Honestly had never heard of them until recently.

Its so nIce to watch a UCLA without having to listen to "Mr. Conference of champions" blathering away.

And is that kid Jaquez (sp) the model for that anonymous anarchy mask protesters wear? Or is that the Salvador Dali look?
That's a team of mixed characters...very west coast like. They can ball fer sure .

Really good comparison - moving methodically than suddenly a quick snap pass. Great to watch - I think teams are going to emulate that in the future.

I remember seeing a profile about the school’s sports programs on tv. If I recall, the school makes insane profit that the decided to use to fund their athletics program. The thinking would be if they invest a ton, the exposure would drive more online students and more $$$. I think their facilities are super nice.

Makes sense sports are a great marketing tool.
