Anyone signed up because of the quarantine? I didn’t because I have a problem. Not afraid to admit it. I wish there was a way to play the lottery w/o having to go buy a physical ticket (mega and powerball).
What site do you play online poker?Have been playing poker since it became regulated again in NJ years ago, don't play any other games since you can't beat the house.
The prize pools for the daily tournaments and series on the regulated sites have been way up since the quarantine began, but it still pales in comparison to the good old days pre UIGEA. The unregulated sites have also seen a traffic boom, but personally I don't play on them.
I have an account with both TVG and DRF. TVG has more promotions but as far as racing content (videos, analysis, articles) DRF is the way to go. I only play TVG for the Super 5 and 8 which are free to play. No, but thinking of signing up for TVG so i can bet on the ponies.

hmmmmmm.... I was just talking to my buddy yesterday about how now would be a good time for the Feds to finally repeal the UIEGA 2006 (put the repeal in the next funding bill).....
...i guess i wasn't the only one getting the itch.....
Be careful w the poker. I played online w a site called Paradise Poker, bout 10 years ago. Offshore but still, sat at my dining room w a view of 3 of the 8 seats hole cards plus my own.Low stakes table. Im not much of a techie or programmer, etc, seemed pretty easy to me. I havent returned to online play since. If there is money involved, bet someone is trying to scam it
Used to play a bit too much on Paradise back in the day. Bought in for about $100, turned it into about $10,000, cashed out $2000 and then one night, lost the remaining $8000 in about 4 hours. Absolute train wreck playing $40-$80 Omaha hi/lo. Couldn't pull out, but at least I didn't go back for more and then a week later was when the law changed shutting it all down and I know many who lost their money, so at least I got my two grand, lol.WSOP.com, PokerStars and Borgata.
WSOP is the same network as 888 and has combined player pools with NJ, Nevada and Delaware. It gets the most traffic and has the biggest prize pools of the regulated sites.
PokerStars gets the 2nd most traffic, right now there is PokerStars PA and PokerStars NJ. The player pools are not combined. If playing on PS NJ you only play against NJ players, and in PA only against PA players. At some point in the future this will change and more states should combine.
Borgata is the same network as Party Poker and MGM Poker. You only play against NJ players. There are rumors that this will expand to Nevada soon.

Its gotten to the point, where I am debating betting on Wrestlmania tonight. Yes, I know wrestling is scripted
Very liquid. I use my checking account for electronic transfers to my DRF account. There are no fees for using bank transfers for deposits or withdrawals. Winning and losing wagers are credited/debited to your account immediately. I suggest you check out both sites or use Google to get more information about funding/withdrawal options. How's the liquidity? I'm thinking of an online horse account with someone

To this day, I think I was being cheated by the site, somehow, especially after seeing a 60 Minutes story on the cheating that went on. There were just too many weird hands, including losing three times with the top full house to quads. In 4 hours. With $3-4K monster pots, two of which were high only. The odds on those losses in one session are astronomically low.
Haven't been back since, but I do have some free time post-retirement (although this friggin' coronavirus has become a little bit all-consuming for me) and had been going to PARX weekly until the shutdown, so maybe it's time to ease back in. Thanks for the intel.

Everyone has their own level of risk tolerance, but I am not concerned about any of the poker sites regulated by NJ, PA, or Nevada. I know people that play at some of the other sites like America's Cardroom and Bovada, but I that is above my risk tolerance level. To each his own though.I will wait for Parx to reopen don’t trust online

I would like to do OTB fromNo, but thinking of signing up for TVG so i can bet on the ponies.
Ran into an annoying issue when I was out of state and couldn't bet through TVG. The NJ-based app not working makes sense, but an NJ resident should be able to bet through the TVG app when they're in another state.

If I was so inclined to play online slots or other casino games of the regulated NJ sites I wouldn't be worried about those either. They are regulated by the state gaming commission and tested to pay out at their mathematically correct intervals, i.e. 96% for slots and games like that. I'd rather take the player edge I have in poker over the house edge in slots though.
For those that want a different type of fix, you could try this:

I had a similar experience with.. PokerStars I think.. then read it was sometimes rigged on single tables.Used to play a bit too much on Paradise back in the day. One of my guys loves going to Monmouth Park and is dying for it to open up again. Saw him there once all cleaned up with his Polo ****, Fedora hat and big fat cigar in his mouth. He just loves horse racing. My wife and I go a couple times a year, it's always a fun time.I like Monmouth Park on a nice sunny day in the picnic area.
Cold beer and a dog.

I won 3 tournaments.. a few thousand each time... tried to increase the stakes (and thus increase my winnings) didn't work out that way. I broke even long term then walked away. Played a few tables in vegas.. again, broke even. Don't really have the patience for it. I catch myself trying to make things happen. A bad habit only mitigated slightly by a solid maths background.
As for #s buddy who hacked around with Tabletop Simulator.. you must really trust that guy.
That pokerstars story should be made into a movie... the basterds. And some dude used math and probability to PROVE they were cheating... iirc. It's why I mostly just play at PARX since on-line disappeared - and until NJ came around with on-line I wasn't inclined to try that again. My buddy is completely trustworthy and none of us is playing with $$ we can't afford to lose, plus the funny thing is he was doing much better when we played together at Poker Stars - he's lost more than he's won at Tabletop Simulator so far, so if he's cheating, he sucks at it (and he could completely cheat being the "administrator" he's told us he is able to see our cards, but I think we'd see if he were doing that since we're on Skype (he's not manipulating anything while hands are in play).
