I agree with the sentiment that we could play our way into the sweet 16, but if we’re seeded as an 8 or 9 that means we’d have to beat a 1 seed to get there. Tall order.

Tall order indeed. But this team has the potential to beat any team in the country on a good day. We’re also capable of losing to pretty much any team in the field on a bad day.

So bring them on and let’s see what happens.

I can't say that until I see where we are headed. I mean the consensus says we'll be an 8 seed, if that means a game against Kansas in the second round you can say goodbye to that dream.

Kansas is a big team that relies on scoring inside which is probably right up Rutgers alley.

Rutgers fans leave in fear of Myles Johnson getting in foul trouble. What if Donald Igwebuike gets in foul trouble? They play a pretty slow tempo and don't shoot it that great.

They are certainly beatable.

I would definitely not say that everyone is playing their best ball of the season. I won't slam any kids in this thread, but it's obvious who is not playing well right now.

Lol we went from we may not make the tournament to we can be a sweet sixteen team to we can beat the #1 team in the nation. I mean the national championship is not that far of a step from there.

I don't look at teams that get into foul trouble and shoot free throws like Rutgers as serious sweet 16 contenders, but I'd be happy to eat crow on that and hope I'm wrong!

Win round 1 50%
Win round 2 20%.......10%
Win round 3 25%........2.5%
Win round 4 25%........0.625%
Win round 5 25%........0.15625%
Win Round 6 25%.......0.039%

2564 to 1
Doable...those were the GRF preseason odds of us being over .500

enough kids are playing well to give us a shot at significant success. We played a tough schedule and blew out 2 Top 10 teams. Anything is possible.

Just stop it Al.

We beat two top 10 teams at the RAC. Tournament is not at the RAC. How many good teams have we beaten outside the RAC? Zero. How many mediocre teams have we beaten away from RAC? Zero. How many bad teams have we beaten away from RAC? One

We would have a chance against Kansas or anybody else, IF the game is at the RAC. I do not believe this team is capable of winning on the road or at a neutral site against any decent team. I hope they prove me wrong vs. Purdue and in the B1G tournament and then again in NCAA, but if they lose to Purdue and then go out in first round of B1G, I do not think they even make the big dance much less have any chance of sweet 16.

On the bright side, in NIT, they would likely get two or three home games and maybe make it to MSG. Question: Is it better to make it to NIT final 4 or to go to NCAA and get bounced in the first round???

Gotta be in it (matchup against #1) to win it.

I believe everyone agrees we have the potential to make a run in the tourney........but first and foremost that is contingent IF we make it in.

I was just calling out Al because he’s saying we’re “peaking” after last nights game...LOL. C’mon Al.....we’ve been peaking 18 out 19 games at the RAC this year!!! And we lost 3 in a row before last night!!!! If that’s peaking, what are all the other teams in the country doing?

As far as the tourney, we play great D, don’t think anyone really wants to play us.

It's like that every few weeks but a different kid or two each time.

Even while losing 3 in a row, to #25 Michigan, #24 Wisconsin, and #20 PSU, we were playing good basketball and getting better, and last night was the best effort of the season, and we beat the #9 team in the country, something that hadn't yet happened, this year. So yes, I do believe we are peaking and hope that we continue to play good basketball against Purdue.
