This is probably a 10% shot from lebron however, it really doesnt matter, why? They assure themselves another possession by launching this **** from outer space. 2 for 1 every time, all the time, no excuses.

and here come the “yOuRe tRyInG tO cOmPaRe LeBrOn jAmEs tO gEo bAkEr” crowd. And no, no im not. I am quite literally saying that it is to your benefit to get ANY shot up inside the logo and 2 for 1 than not 2 for 1.

Hahaha I had the same thought watching it live.

This is 2 for 1 to the extreme.
I really think Zion's dunk played into it too - Lebron wanting to reapond with a statement play.

2 for 1 only makes sense if you can get off two quality shots. In that situation I would have greatly prefered to see Lebron to drive to the hoop taking 3 more seconds (down to 29 instead of 32). He made the shot but so many more good things happen when you drive to the hoop in that situation. Plus, he's Lebron freakin' James. He's going to get call on a drive. Poor awareness on his part.

In college when you get the ball with 60 to 45 seconds left, I like the drive straight to the hoop with a kick out option for the corner 3. Ideally, the shot is taken as close to the 40 second mark as possible, but if you go under 35 seconds play it like it is one shot. I really thought RHJr would be the guy to drive in a situation like this but in reallity we're better off with Geo or McConnell.

In the end game, I think time outs, fouls, hot hands, fatigue, crowd, refs, offense/defense substituions create a convoluted situation I leave it in coach's hands but prefer to think that a team playing in February and March has enough experience that they should be able to play 2 for 1. But, on the first one, if it is not a drive to the hoop, I'm disappointed. Obviously we can't let Myles touch the ball and that limits what we can do.

Is not cut and dried...lots of factors. You don’t know for sure you will get another shot (OReb by other team, or turnover by your team ) or maybe the second possession results in a very low percentage, rushed shot.

To assess, youd have to use estimated probabilities of the various scenarios. To me, contrary to some views here, I think the point maximizing approach is to be patient and get the best first possession shot you can and then hope for the best
