2 for 1 only makes sense if you can get off two quality shots. In that situation I would have greatly prefered to see Lebron to drive to the hoop taking 3 more seconds (down to 29 instead of 32). He made the shot but so many more good things happen when you drive to the hoop in that situation. Plus, he's Lebron freakin' James. He's going to get call on a drive. Poor awareness on his part.
In college when you get the ball with 60 to 45 seconds left, I like the drive straight to the hoop with a kick out option for the corner 3. Ideally, the shot is taken as close to the 40 second mark as possible, but if you go under 35 seconds play it like it is one shot. I really thought RHJr would be the guy to drive in a situation like this but in reallity we're better off with Geo or McConnell.
In the end game, I think time outs, fouls, hot hands, fatigue, crowd, refs, offense/defense substituions create a convoluted situation I leave it in coach's hands but prefer to think that a team playing in February and March has enough experience that they should be able to play 2 for 1. But, on the first one, if it is not a drive to the hoop, I'm disappointed. Obviously we can't let Myles touch the ball and that limits what we can do.
