cmon guy... over react much?
agree with you.. we bring Young in to up the pace.. but Maryland can keep up.. I just hope we hit our shots... especially the 3s.. because slowing it down to a half-court O is not our best look.

Only Myles can work with the guards down low.. the other big men don't present themselves well for passes... which makes us take jumpshots and force passes into bad situations. So now Myles really cannot get into foul trouble... without Young we probably cannot win the transition game over the whole 40 minutes... but slowing things down means 30 point loss impossible,

Every door opened, creates a potential opportunity for others to step forward in a more prominent role. Baker has been a little sluggish, but this suspension (which I'd like to think extends beyond tonight's game) is 40 to 50 minutes over 2 games for Paul Mulcahy.

Yeah, I know Mulcahy has limitations we have all documented and such, but there are some players who could play better with more minutes...

If you are looking for any positive from this, you have the 2nd toughest road game on the schedule tonight and the potentially easiest B1G home game on Sunday night vs Northwestern where Young could be on ice.

Whatever mistakes or plays that are made, are probably not impacting the results of the game.....so let's toss Mulcahy in the deep end of the pool in College Park.....and let him play 20 minutes or so vs NW and see if he can get 8 to 9 shots up per game. Anything that gets him more aggressive on offense, maybe Young not playing opens up better play for Paul.

Didn't our fans just chant dui at Simpson on Saturday. What a joke.

This. First thing that came to mind... *facepalm

Jeez what a dope. I didnt have uber and lyft when i was a student. All we had was the drunk bus which almost never came. These guys can press a button and be anywhere on campus within minutes.. And youre still dumb enough to get caught DUI as a KEY player on a B1G bubble team... Inexcusable.

After we all ran our mouths after Zavier Simpson was reinstated after one game, Im curious to see how this plays out.

If true, Im guessing most people dont think 1 game is appropriate.

Heh, 2 games? Maryland will kill us tonight anyway, and we dont need him to handle NW at home.

Was already worried about this being our first blowout loss, so let's hope this doesn't make that more likely - we do have good guard depth, but JY has been one of our better players lately. Also, "disgraceful" and some of the other words used are a bit strong until we know what it is - people sometimes make mistakes...

Quite frankly after a loss the last thing they should be doing is getting drunk and driving but thats just me

He took the loss hard that’s ok. Can’t do what he did though.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he was upset he wasn’t playing more minutes of late with Geo getting cooked on D a lot in the last few games.

I was so pissed at UM for how they slapped his hand and now we have our own dope. Can't defend this freaking stupid and selfish behaviour. I was just thinking how Pike had good eggs to support. Classic.

The way Jacob has kind of played last couple games on the court, kind of makes you think he been doing a little too much celebrating.

vs Michigan 5-14 0-3 3 TO
vs Purdue 11 minutes 2-2 5 TO

We have all seen Young play
Anyone really surprised he was a bit out of control at the wheel? He doesn't seem like a slow and steady type guy who stops for 3 full seconds

I wasn’t a D1 athlete. D1 athletes aren’t supposed to drink during the season.

I think it was a BTN production of the 1976 RU hoops team ... Tom Young used to buy the team a case of beer for the bus ride home after a game. I don't think having a couple beers on the weekend is detrimental to players... tequila shots are :Sly:

And what if they let him off, causing him to feel like he can do it again, and he kills somebody next time?
What if he still does it again?

What if he took it as a wake up call lucky break and didn't ever do it again?

Bac, i actually agree with him. I truly know cops who drive around while on duty drinking in their squad cars. Is it all of them? No no no, very few. But make no mistake in some urban areas there are some cops who drink in their cars while on the job
stop it know it all :chairshot:
Personally i want cops to let him off as well. I know it’s A) not a popular opinion B) he shouldnt have been driving drunk anyway but C) i wish our local police cut our athletes some breaks where they can
then you're a joke.

Which is more likely to getnhim to never drive drunk again? The cops letting him go or the legal pains in the *** plus suspension? And if the cops let him go, he technically would immediately do it again because he would drive away still drunk lol.

Some of the biggest drinkers I knew from my 9 years at RU were D1 athletes and I doubt RU was an outlier. But I'm pretty sure the Ultimate Frisbee team, which I was on for 2 years, smoked more weed (and still likely ran more than the football team).

Very disappointing and immature. He let his team and school down here. No excuse. Team needs to move on and focus on games ahead.

Maybe all D1 programs and schools are different.

Listen, the kid probably feels horrible right now. He knows how many people he let down and is probably at his lowest point. We all make mistakes, no one on this earth is perfect.

Alcohol skews your judgement on situations, fortunately no one was hurt in this situation. I know everyone on this board has made a stupid mistake while drinking.

Let's give the kid some support instead of bringing him down during an extremely difficult time for him. Jacob, you will get through this, it will get better.
