There are some stretches where we look absolutely incapable of scoring the basketball.
Need more post-ups for Harper and McConnell. Mulcahy made two very nice passes on pick and rolls let's see more of that. Mathis needs to be aggressive shooting...he's been maybe our best offensive player lately.
And if I was Pikiell I would try and draw something up easy for Geo. Like a back door alley-oop coming out of a timeout. He needs confidence in the worst way and this team will go nowhere if he isnt scoring. I realize it's easier said than done.
I think Turgeon will tell his guys to drive drive drive drive and I can see the fouls piling up on us real quick.

Mulcahy with 2 amazing passes in the half. The one pass produced a layup that of course was missed.

Look for all the bad decisions in the flow of the game that Geo and Harper are making it’s on Pike to then get these guys into sets where we get the ball to our guys where they need it to score efficiently. He could do a bit better there and then with rotations, generally speaking.
Think this is why Pike used two schollies to get a forward that can shoot for PnR options.

Basically just want him to drive and pass to Yeboah at this point.
Things to eliminate at halftime..
- no more Yeboah acting like a point driving and dishing (this largely stopped already)
- no more dishing on drives to Carter (or Duke if he's in there)

-more McConnel posting up little guards.. with Myles in the game so he can disk or toss backboard "passes" for put-backs
-more of the same on the boards and defense.. well done.. but expect more drives by Cowan.. they now have targets for foul trouble.. Cowan will drive.. the all will.. give refs a chance to make a call for them

Defense and rebounding can improve thru player development.Shooting is a talent that players usually have developed in high school.Rutgers needs to do a far better job in recruiting shooters because they are difference makers.
Maybe the refs have friends making 2nd half bets right now.. hedging
Maryland will go inside out now. They will either get fouled and foul Myles out of the game (and of course their center is an amazing shooter so will be money from the line), and then as we start to close in they will start to dish out and their open 3s will begin to fall. These kind of teams are dangerous. We need to answer with some offense.

This is the problem with Geo and why he was lightly recruited - he can’t drive on anyone. Gets no penetration. Of course this is why his stepback is good - he’s practiced it because it’s how he scores. Geo can’t be effective as a ball dominant guard in half court unless it’s a last shot scenario or PnR. I think he would be good if he accepted working harder off ball to score, problem is he wouldn’t be as good as Mathis on both ends and probably not McConnell in that role.
