I'm confused.. I'm explicitly not blaming the coach. I'm saying the players panicked at the very end which led to them throwing away a very winnable game.

If you read our boards, we get just as mad at late missed free throws, moving pick, we made some dumb plays in a night of stupid basketball offensively for us.

Sorry thought you were blaming Pikel. Misread, just go home from game. Wanted to say good game and Pikel is good and like I said Maryland fans seem to be FAR harder on Turgeon.

If he doesn't' win by 20 people are mad.

To to confirm we have a bunch of sophomores, 1 junior and a senior. So two upperclassman. This is along term deal. This lose did not knock us out of tournament. In fact it gives us credibility that we can play with top 10 teams...

Maryland - 2-3 on the road with losses to unranked penn state(at the time), ranked Iowa and unranked Wisconsin. Wins against unranked Indiana and unranked northwestern.

Michigan state - 2-3 on the road with losses to unranked Purdue, unranked Indiana and unranked Wisconsin. Wins were unranked Minnesota and unranked northwestern.

illinois- 3-3 on the road. Losses to ranked Maryland, ranked Iowa and ranked Michigan state. Wins against unranked Wisconsin, unranked Purdue and unranked Michigan.

Rutgers- 1-4 losses to ranked Michigan state, unranked illinois(at the time), ranked Iowa, ranked Maryland and unranked Michigan. Win over Nebraska.

So the top three teams in the conference only have 7 road wins combined. ALL 7 ARE AGAINST UNRANKED TEAMS!!! We have only played 2 unranked team on the road for Christ sake and Michigan state has yet to play any ranked teams in the road!!!!! We are one Michigan loss away from being tied with the two best teams in the league in the road..

hopefully this puts our road woes into perspective.

Man, get your facts straight.
Geo is a junior in his 3rd year.
Yabolah is a senior.
Young played 2 years at Texas, and practiced all last year, his 4th year on a team.
Miles is a RS soph. This is his 3rd year on the team.
Shaq Carter is in his second year after transferring from 2 years at a JC.
Kiss if playing would be in his 4th year after playing AT Quineapac and sitting out a year and playing last year.

And here's the 2nd part. You need to get your head out of the B1G world in your analysis. The top 5 teams are 16 and 17 away. The NCAA Tourney isn't the B1G Tourney. What you do against other non. Conf. Teams count too. You know the Quad. Wins thing?
SO Rutgers losing to St. Bonaventure AND Pittsburg away counts too. Look at the Big standings and then come back and tell me how our 1 and 5 away record stack up?
Of the top 8 teams nobody has only 1 road win. Maryland has 2, and the other have 3 or 4.

Which road game are we winning? Wisky, OSU, PSU, or Purdue. Assuming we beat Ill, OSU, UM, and NW all here to go undefeated at home. 4 and 4 is 19 - 11 with a win over Caldwell.

Coming close and losing on the road is not an NCAA Tourney metric I'm familiar with.
