Not even a sole coordinator, much less one of the best. Good call. Next idea?
Putting aside whether he has interest or not. I'm not normally one who prefers the route of CEO type coach but it's not the resume of x/os so to speak as to why you'd hire Hafley at this point in his career. It'd be because you think he could be a "poor man's" Dabo type coach or something like Orgeron too.

I think it's easier to do the CEO type thing with a program with more resources but it's for that "it" factor and personality that you might want Hafley at this point in his career not that you think he's going to out scheme anyone etc...The personality to lead, attract recruits, assistants etc...and he does get high marks and that kind of stuff throughout his career in college/NFL.

I only wish that we would act like a B1G school and come up with the $$$ to hire a guy like Fickle out of Cincy. I am sure he will be getting a lot of calls to move up to P5 after the season.

The anti Greg crew needs to get a clue. Most all the Plan B names that you would be willing "to take" have already signaled they want no part of the job. Unless you want Addazio who sounds like a disaster, best to put your support behind Greg.

Very few true anti- Greg...Some may say we could do better if we were willing to pay for better but outside of a couple of trolls- I haven’t seen to many true antiGreg on here...

Young, Jersey ties, affordable, NFL experience, great recruiter, one of the best coordinators in the game right now and will be a head coach sooner than later! Time to stop trying to recapture the past glory some believe Schiano brought to RU. He was and still is horrible at real time game adjustments and got out coached on way too many occasions.

King Haf would turn RU into a top 4-6 B10 program. That's why it'll never happen. We'll hire Greg - and when he's 58 yrs old and we'll still be only winning 5-6 games. His worshippers will praise it with the biggest smiles on their face

wrong. Let King Jeff get his first HC gig at a MAC type school and prove himself.
Greg comes in and turns the program around immediately. Gets NJ Coaches and Recruits excited about Rutgers Football again. Energizes the Fanbase. Donations and ticket sales skyrocket.

If Greg tops out at 5-6 wins his fans will compare those records to what Ash did and declare it a huge accomplishment for Greg and RU FB.

What RU fans can resist the thought of attending the Bad Boy Mowers bowl 3-4 years down the road?

Let’s just get it done with Greg. We are the lepers of P5 FB and are desperate for a HC. Greg is likely our best choice at this point.

The program will completely implode if Greg isn’t hired at this point. That’s just where we are right now. $250k raised by fans just to bring him back. What is wrong with you people?

That's nonsense. He hasn't even sniffed any head coaching job - let alone a P5 job in the Big Ten. If offered, he'd sprint to Piscataway - but I sure as heck don't want him. If he's been so good - then why has nobody hired him after being in coaching for over a decade.
Schiano has been coaching for well over a decade and his phone isn't ringing off the hook either! You guys are so hood winked by the guy that you think he walks on water or something. The RU football program is one of the worst in the entire country, but you believe you can attract a $10 million dollar quality coach with a nickle and dime check book. Get real and have some realistic expectations. Schiano isn't the only coach in the world who can build a program.

Please come back and post when Hafley doesn't sniff a P5 offer this offseason. Can't wait!

Heard Helton is getting axed Tuesday and Fickle is now their top target.

I would imagine Fickle is on the top of most coaching searches except ours...It will be interesting to see how Ahsh does as a DC at his next stop without him...

What are they waiting for? Slim possibility they make the PAC12 champ game?

I was reading an article in the Athletic saying the new AD Mike Bohn and the new prez like him and are thinking about keeping him another year. IMO you have to have a commitment to keep him longer than that or get rid of him.

Normally I'd think Fickell would want to stay in the midwest but for a USC type opportunity I'd think he'd leave and also to work for the AD who hired him at Cincy. Fickell was Bohn's ticket to the USC job so I can understand also bringing him along considering his string of 3 failed hires at Colorado.

Can't be since everyone on this board told me he is a midwest guy and would never leave that part of the country even if his AD had just left.
I have said that but that was in relation to our job not an opportunity like USC or something similar should it pop up. I wouldn't expect him to leave for a lower level P5 job...upper level very possible and mid level depending on the opportunity but for a school in our tier I would have been surprised if he left the midwest.
