The only coach we are going to get here is someone who failed at other places so they are not in demand by any well run schools.

Even they will know that they are walking into a job where it is overwhelmingly likely that they fail again, but the opportunity to make the type of money ($20 million+) they will get for failing here makes it worth taking the job.

Greg failed at the highest of places...the NFL, so
does he get a pass because Saban failed in Miami and Greg is the Saban of Rutgers?

Of course you question the admin.

You already know you have significant headwinds internally as confirmed by what happened with Schiano.

You’d be working for the AD who had the balls to say no to Schiano.

Did I mention Schiano? He wasn’t at the top of my list going into this.

My beef is that Hobbs has played this into a situation where no good coach with options or chance at an upward career trajectory is coming here. We are getting someone who will come here to collect the big paycheck for failing, because they have no upward career trajectory to worry about.

Even though Anthony Camp is an alum and all indications are he’d like to coach here again, he’s a young, rising star and needs to think beyond the next gig. If I was in his shoes, I wouldn’t take the job at this point in my career either. Maybe he’ll get another chance down the road after Hobbs and Barchi are long gone and whatever slug they hired to succeed (ha!) Ash has (surprise!) failed miserably.

The return of Schiano to....

Steve Addazio.

Happy 150th everybody.
Perfect example of what I was talking about. A guy who knows the area enough to know he is walking into a situation he can’t fix, but he is never getting P5 head coach money again from anyone else, so he will come here and happily cash our checks.

I get that young emerging assistants need to be careful when selecting their first HC job, as it could be a career killer (Ash?). But, all indications all along were that he would relish this opportunity.

Now, after hearing about the behind the scenes activities he is rumored to be having cold feet. That's a consequence of how everything went down.

As everyone has mentioned, it will probably box is in to hiring a person who at this point has nothing to lose.

Schiano wasn’t my choice going into this. Hobbs has misplayed this to where he would have been far better than the desperate retreads we will be picking from now, especially because whoever Hobbs ends up with has to deal with a lot of resentment from the fans and local HS coaching community.

When no one takes the job smart *** Hobbs will just make Nunzio permanent. Hobbs needs to be fired today.
