The Big Ten is not pleased

Sub 10k crowds, no hope, no future without GS

the conference should kick RU out for football, like Temple got kicked out of the BE

RU should just play football in Monmouth's conference if they don't want to compete.

RU will be fine. Hiring a head coach with a lifetime losing record and giving them a ridiculous contract isn’t a good idea.

See Florida State. And dozens of other schools. It’s not worth it.

This is moronic. This was RU's one chance to act like they belong and they once again, proved they aren't ready. RU will not be fine. Tickets and donations will dry up to embarrassing numbers. RU spit in all of our faces today

Proud, some will disagree with me, but I will be shocked if the Big Ten Office doesn’t have a VERY serious discussion with Barchi and Hobbs about this failure.

Football revenues is everything

Rutgers made it clear today

They do not want to compete in the Big Ten in football.

The people of New Jersey should make it clear to Rutgers that they will not financially support the program at all.

Hobbs could invest in giant tarps to block off both upper level sides and also the end zone.

No offense, but your board posting privileges should be suspended for making such an Uber stupid post.

Try harder.

You're one of the clueless insiders
Probably an Ash fan too

The school doesn't want to compete in football

Enjoy the azzz whippings and empty stadium.

Reading between the lines here, but seems like RU pulled the offer after weeks of drama and then leaked the details. Schiano camp trying to do damage control saying he turned it down.

From ESPN

The source said the sides had agreed to an eight-year, $32 million contract, but it wasn't finalized after Rutgers refused to guarantee new facilities and other improvements that Schiano was demanding.

Sounds like we are not ALL IN.

You lost street cred Nuts

You said it was a done deal

Lol at you

My statement has a better chance of coming true than your inside info

It will never happen, no chance, and my info (as well as others; I wasn’t the only 1) was spot-on UNTIL Greg moved the goalposts following the weekend (APPARENTLY). Sorry but that’s only the 2nd time in how many years I’ve gotten incorrect info? The 1st being that damn Tire Bowl thing because Pitt went behind our backs and told UNC they could have 75% of their ticket allocation!!! STILL mad about that one!

What do you mean pulled the offer ? What was the offer ? So you’re saying Schiano didn’t accept the offer

Moronic post of the year.
Like there is no coach anywhere that could be decent here, ok.
go back to the SHU board.

You're wrong and just don't get it.
The moronic posts of the year were those that said to relax, it's a done deal.

Rutgers chose not to compete.

The vast majority of RU fans and football fans in NJ wanted Greg back

You will see smaller crowds and donations next season of that is even possible

Not all in on Greg apparently.

Let’s wait and see which P5 school hires Greg.

I’m saying the answer is Nobody.

We’re not getting kicked out if the B1G PLEASE stop thinking this!!!

Why are we in the BIG if we don’t want to compete ? We should kick ourselves out and align ourselves in a like minded athletic coherence . Basically , this decision is saying we refuse to invest in football like over BIG schools . We need to bail

You can get a really good coach for 4 million if you look around. Boise St. coach makes 1.5 million.
Dollarwise 4 million is a fine top salary for a coach but if there is no chance to win and no support for the facility improvement and staffing improvement necessary why would a up and coming coach want the position. Not trying to be a wiseass just being realistic

Not sure I understand how you’re coming to that conclusion. The offer is by far the best we have ever offered and honestly is in the middle of the B1G pack as far as salaries go....

I was one of those who said from the beginning that we should be conducting a real HC coach and speaking to multiple candidates- by the book. We focused on Schiano and the donors pushed as well...I am usually wrong on here, but that’s exactly why you vet multiple candidates and consider multiple proposals. To say no one else would do as well as Schiano, who I also liked but never exclusively...is obviously ridiculous

I hope they do. Then Rutgers can ask for a full share now. The league can't expect Rutgers to spend like the rest of the schools while receiving a fraction of the conference revenue.

If the school isn't planning on investing the financial windfalls coming our way back into athletics then we mind as well get out anyway.

I'd rather experience a chance to win a game for half the cost than spend boatloads of my hard earned cash to get an *** kicking every other week.

So we are going to build the facilities needed for Anthony Campanile?

If we go the Campanile path it will be a ground roots NJ area approach with coaches who are well known and respected locally by hs recruits. Wasn’t that why Mulcahy hired Greg?

I will bet that more nj hs recruits know the Campaniles more than they know Greg.

Greg at big $$$ was high risk for RU imo.

No, the OP stated rutgers pulled the offer. So what was the offer? And what Schiano said no the offer or wasn’t mulling it ?
I will wait for a response
That's not what I am referring to. SetonHallTroll said the Big Ten was not pleased, and then suggested that the Big Ten would kick out Rutgers.

Oh yeah, I work for the Big Ten you moron

You think they are happy with 10k attendance and not trying to compete?

It's common sense, you lack it.

Why can't you comprehend?

Get a clue
