Was he the guy who was hearing impaired?

Does anybody remember that guy?

Maybe it wasn’t @darkken but the person I’m thinking of had trouble with his syntax and typing skills. Someone gave him a hard time on here even after he explained his disability. I got really annoyed about that. Like really annoyed.

And now I’m mad just remembering it. LOL
Wasn't it @Darkkyn with a Y? Yes, it's coming up. And yes I believe he was the one you're referring to, yeah?

How about ncaaball ? I think he was a Nova fan who actively posted on our bball board and was a total f'ing douche! How about Ann, the old moderator on the Seton Hall bball board, ha.

And who was the UConn fan during our Big East days who always came over and talked sh#t? I think he was also a Maine fan or something like that.

1) REALLY not what this thread was about, HOWEVER...

2) Season ticket sales will increase overnight, under Greg, I can tell you that much. We start showing improvement they will again every single year. Do you realize how many freakin’ alumni we have in the state? WIN AND THEY WILL COME. Period.

My wife who is also an alum begrudgingly sat through years of football with me. We dropped them about 2 years ago combination of kids activities and general disAshter I couldn't do it to her anymore. She couldn't name a player on the team not named ray rice or kenny britt. But even her after hearing about schiano coming back asked if we were getting tix again.

I think our crew has gone from a total of about 28 tickets (high point) to MAYBE 10 now and our tailgates have gone from a solid B to an F. I fully expect to at least DOUBLE season tickets by next season (2020) and pray to God that our pre-gaming gets back to respectability soon!!!

I am sure the characters are going to come back, the storylines of this rebuild are going to be compelling, this time it will be happening in the Big Ten and there will be even more coverage of it, way more. The fan participation from other schools will be significantly higher as well, for better or worse.

I remember disagreeing once with Cal about something or other. He was such a gentleman I was ashamed for simply having a different opinion lol.
He was the guy (when we would have our spirited discussions on here) you looked to see what his opinion was on the topic.

It was usually the correct one.

The people in their 40’s and 50’s with money from 2006 are 60’s and 70’s now.

Maybe living in Florida or somewhere south. Or not with us anymore.

Those 16,000 season tickets just aren’t going to magically come back.

I’m 55 and have low interest in getting emotionally involved. It’s hard to trust again after the clown show the last 4 years. Even the younger fans said they have found other things to do with their money and fall Saturdays.

People expecting some miracle turnaround in support or results might want to temper expectations.

But why? It’s just fandom. Ride or die with your squad.

Let’s do it. 30,000 season tickets and get the place rocking

Also,

As we have proved already our ~41.5K then and now 52K+ is a LOT louder than places much bigger than ours.

Let’s make it “The RAC without a roof” all over again.

The “Jersey Roar” really is a thing.

If you watch games around the country , even when it’s time for the crowd to get loud on big plays , the fans are holding something back.
By us, people lose their freekin minds.

I’ve told this story before but in the WVU snow game when Jamison scores on 4th down...from where I was on the East side concourse it sounded like bomb went off...and that was nowhere near a full house.

That one I don’t recall.
He sat like 4 rows behind me, would say nothing the whole game and wound only chant on FGs by Ito. When he’d make the FG or the XP our guy would make a terribly thought out statement for Ito like “ the verdicts in!” orb”Here comes the Judge”. More like go eat some fudge. The whole section would look and just give this stare. Priceless.

I remember Alamo Al used to post. I think he either lived in Flanders or it might be that he was Flemish.

We won that one!

Lies.

We arrived in Detroit within 60 seconds of each other.

I started in Manalapan. You started in Lancaster, PA.

And we caught you midway through Ohio.

That's right, sports fans - these two had a 2+ hour head start and @MYHATINTHERING and I caught them 4 hours later.

What this thread does is make me long for the good times and I'm not talking about the play on the field.

As much as anything, I really miss a time when we had so many threads here that were milk-thru-the-nose funny from start to finish. Someday maybe it comes around again.

...Ohhh so many characters from these boards, the lots, the stadium and bowl parties, that have disappeared in the recent past?

The Scarlet Eskimo
The King Of Sandy Hook
Don Finkenstadt (and The Finkenstadt Caravan)
Higgins
(Not so “little” anymore) Jovi
Twizzlers
The Stump
The Chopper
Purple Lot Superiority (ha ha ha)

...Obviously there are many more so please feel free to add on. Also Looking forward to attendance battles, lot wars, and being able to engage with visiting fans in a hostile fashion - and feeling good about it - once again lol!

(Looks like it’s going to be a few more days until this thing gets done so I’ve got to talki about something lol...)

Last time I saw Higgins was at the USF game in Tampa.
Drunk as a skunk. He had a friend who was getting sick all overall the upper deck.

NYCbanker

The finklestadt

Posters I hope I never see again

Tony soprano ...who still shows up every few months under a different handle

That arrogant prick from Michigan whose handle escapes me that kept telling me that Rutgers would never get a big ten invite when I knew he was dead wrong (and had the info right on the confrence realignment circumstances on when we were getting our shot)

Wow this applies to our group as well. Went from 16-20 down to 4. Not even doing food anymore just booze. Sad.

I saw him at Legends before the ND game.
I’ll never forget that game, we went to visit the Norte dame team hotel before heading over to Legends before the game, we got into the elevator and snuck up to the top floors where their team meeting conference rooms where, and when we walked in spread out on the tables were cards saying “your Pinstripe Bowl Championship rings will be delivered shortly” ... always thought the game was rigged for ND

Richie Rutgers. Got pushed out of his lower sideline seats on the 40 yard line by the ticket office after decades as a season ticket holder.

Now Richie can have a whole row to himself.

Exactly what happened to me. Over the years I was bumped from Yellow to Blue to Black and bumped from Sec 127 Row 40 to Sec 128 Row 28, with a treat to bump me to 129, because I couldn't keep up with the mandatory giving levels. Funny thing is, once Igave uptake tickets, RU started calling me asking that I start buying again.

I had anywhere from 10 to 30 people that would show up. Scarlet parking which they really liked. I footed the bill for for some tickets and parking they picked up the slack.

It’s a haul for me to get there. It all adds up to thousands even after the tickets. But I bought them even if I only went to one game a year. After Flood left I couldn’t give tickets away.

Was fun from 06 to 2014.

There was never a poster as bad as Ann, the old Seton Hall Rivals poster.

Wow, nice try, and once again you fail. I was welcomed back to this board well before John left here to go to the other board. I was the one who was run “roughshod” on, bitched about incessantly by four or five posters to the mods, and eventually given an extended suspension because of it. ALL due to me being 100% spot-on about Flood (Both on and off the field of play). Get your facts straight dude.

So which retread of an old moniker, or monikers, are you?

I’m retreaded yearly and a nobody.

So you weren’t one of the secret police over here in the before time. When the board was run by the gestapo? Hmmm

Sincere apologies. Haven’t seen you here so I assumed you were over on the echo chamber.

Flood wasn’t the problem. He was a symptom of the problem.

Wrong. He was a HUGE problem but that’s been discussed 1000x.
