Why do you need to know this in September? Either way, Rutgers is in the market for a grad transfer upgrade in the off season. I guess this is unless you think Sitkowski will be one of the top qbs in the league this year.

There are plenty of qb transfers every year. Until they find someone elite, Rutgers should be in the qb transfer market pretty much every off season.

lol...See #1 I love when people put all the blame on players that with all the 'technique' and development, can still miss assignments. Not because of lack of technique, but because no one is telling them, " if you don't block that guy, and keep him out of my face, I personally will walk you to the bench!" Now, that's a QB!
But, I will say a QB, still has to earn that type of respect.

Just want the best QB that gives us the best chance to win. And right now it’s not Sit.

Shocked at the amount of people that want to see Art. Just wow. 4 TD 18 INT and 1.6 yards per attempt. Zero big plays. Tons of unforced picks. No touch or feel. No ability to read the defense. Statue in the pocket. Bad stats in HS too. He's never been good and was all time historic bad last season. What logical reason is there to expect him to be good magically this season? What has he done to earn another start? What does he do better than Carter?

More like to throw for more yards? Carter. More TDs? Carter. Less INTs? Carter. More rushing yards? Carter. Better field vision? Carter. Better touch? Carter. Better deep ball? Carter.

According to today's practice report, it appears that AS will start against UMass and both will play. I'm fine with this as long as they both get a meaningful opportunity in that game to play. I believe that this happens when I see it though, so it will be at least a little concerning to me if AS does start the game.

The media is given a brief glimpse of practice. They get about 30 minutes at start to watch stretching and beginning of drills, and then a brief press conference with some coaches after it’s all done .

Right, but there is no information on what they saw other than who played. They could still write who looked good/bad in whatever limited time they saw.

Have you ever dealt with the media? I have regularly in connection with my job. Pretty much every reporter that I’ve ever dealt with is something below a Neanderthal. Unless we are talking about the NY Times or some of the other top newspapers, they do the bare minimum and offer little to no insight while regularly getting the operative facts wrong.

Thought this might be appropriate here. Nice article about some names I've mentioned here before in Littrell, Harrell and Fine. The ability and good fortune to find a qb like that, system that fits, willingness to play him early despite not having the prototype body and seeing the big development from year 1 to 2 and now going into his senior year. This is the kind of thing I like to see from coaches and Littrell has a nice history with offenses he's managed in his career.

I'm not commenting on who should play or not but the main point is I think the future should be now or really close to it not 3 years out etc..and coaches should always be able to find and identify the next guy for the future be it from the roster or outside of it.

What exactly has Carter not done well? And how often is he making bad passes, bad decisions, interceptions, fumbles, not making reads, etc? Please give examples.

See, I don’t think you or anyone else not at practice can know this, because the coaches have severely limited access. So you are relying or even guessing that the coaching staff is making a good evaluation of the QB situation. Reports from the first scrimmage were 3TDs and about 140 yards passing for Carter, and 30 yards passing for Art. How exactly is Art doing better than Carter in live action?

In the limited access they've provided, Sitkowski has not looked improved enough to even be an average qb. In that same access, Carter has shown flashes that he could be an average qb. This is despite the fact that all reports (including their own statements to the media) are that Sitkowski has been given every opportunity to look good such that it is clear that they were hoping he would have been named the starter by now.

This situation is akin to the stadium "security" policy. It would be easier for Rutgers to make the program more fan friendly. But they elect not to, because wouldn't it be terrible to have die-hard fans following every move of the program they pay money to and creating a buzz about it before the season?

If all they see is 30 minutes of practice that is not enough time to draw up an opinion worth posting. Even if they focused on one guy, or one position group, there is just not enough time, any opinion they may come up with would likely be misleading.

Reporting who is playing with the 1's is legit information we as fan's can work with.

Honestly that seems a bit silly. The QBs are the story this summer from a media standpoint. If they want to say their opinion is based on limited information then fine, but it is silly not to tell readers how they each looked. They've done this at other practices. We read just last week how Carter took the offense on a drive down the field.

I'm sure everyone has seen Ash's update today. No starter named. Does sound like he does not plan to play 2 qbs equally. If you haven't read yet the stories are worth checking out.

While I appreciated the report from Kratch / Sargent, they still provided no insight at all into how either of them have looked this week when they've viewed them (and did not say they're not permitted to do so).

As we see in your post above, fans will take this tiny tid bit of practice and make conclusions such as "sitkowski has not improved enough to be an average QB" Now I'm not sure what they said to make you think they think that, but if they are even hinting at such conlcusions based off a 30 minute glimpse of practice, then I'm calling bad reporting.

It's quite possible that neither guy did much of anything, thus, they didn't report on it. Which is fine by me, if there is nothing there, then I don't need to read an article about it.
