Thought it was interesting to see how the "oldtimers" did. In general, not too well, with the notable exceptions of 61-year old Bernhard Langer shooting -1 and 61-year old Sandy Lyle shooting +1. Here are a few other scores...

Mize (60): +6
Olazabal (53): +6
Couples (59): +6
Singh (56): +8
Woosnam (61): +8
Cabrera (almost 50): +10

And yes, Phil Mickelson is almost in this group, as he'll turn 49 in June - and he shot 5 under. Still has game.

If I heard correct. Would be oldest major winner by a few months. Old Tom Morrison was "49 plus 90 days"...which isn't 49 + 180? But let's not get ahead of ourselves. These guys tend to flame out after 2 days. 4 days of this is TOUGH.

Freddie was under par at the turn so he really must have fallen apart on the back.

Yes, Phil would be the oldest major winner ever at 48 and 10 months, Julius Boros, at 48 and 4 months is currently the oldest major winner ever; Old Tom Morris was 46; Jack's Masters win in 1986 gives him 3rd place as he was also 46.

Always loved Payne Stewart's outfit. Knickers and the jeff cap

realized the date was 6 years ('93) before the crash . I'm no autograph or memorabilia collector but this is one I always liked and kept. He was a really nice guy.
I'm a VERY average golfer but at least I have proof I inspired Tiger Woods Masters Sunday outfit choice LOL.

I’m not a fan of the lifetime exemption for Masters winners. The field is so small already. I think it should have a cutoff at some point.

Really? I dont see it as much of a problem. I feel like most guys know when to hang it up, and for those that don't the committee will whisper in their ear (or send one of those "how about you focus on the par 3 next year" letters).

Those former players have no effect on who gets in or who doesn't. The Masters is an invitational. There is no hard cap on the field size. I think it's a great tradition along with the Champions Dinner. Love it

Damn. Lightning warning goes off at Augusta. There will be a long delay. Doubt they finish tonight

Well, the radar only shows showers in the immediate Augusta area, so hopefully they'll be over in the next hour and the players can finish their rounds, but mesoscale events like instability-driven showers are extremely hard to predict.

Bad timing for Tiger, he was just starting to heat up with a birdie and sticks the par 3 about 10 feet away on 12.. At least he'll have plenty of time to practice that length putt...
3 off the lead, who was it that said in this thread he wouldn't make the cut?
lol

The 10 shot rule looks like it will come into play after Scott just stuck one on on 15. The +3 gang is in big trouble

Idiot security guard almost took out Tiger. What was that guy looking at and thinking? Man, that would have been a horrible story.

What a leaderboard. Best I can ever remember in terms of the number of top players and then to have Tiger and Phil right there....as good as it gets.

The leaderboard is unreal.
The +3 have to thank Scott for missing a 2 footer on 16

Well they're almost always gone from the cut if they should have stayed home. But The Masters is about the tradition.

Another spectacular day at the Masters. Tiger will get a lot of eyeballs TV. Will pass on the Spring game and will be in the man cave to watch round 3

Dude, I'm torn. I'm a big Tiger fan, but I haven't missed a Spring game in mayb 20 years. I don't even know when the Spring games started. With great weather tomorrow, terrific tailgates at Spankys in the yellow and Olde Queens Island in the Scarlet lot, I have to go, plus I'm going to go in early and get some pics with Ray Rice,Kenny Britt and the rest of the RU former stars.
AND, I will try not to hear who is doing what at the Masters and watch it as soon as I get home on the DVR or the Golf Channel replay.
If it was Sunday, I might pass on the Scrimmage, but it's 'moving day', so will be in front of the TV all day Sunday.

I think Tiger is going to do it. If he makes even half those short ones he missed, he'd be up by 4. His driving and approaches are back. He's healthy , and I just have that feeling he's going to win it . Fabulous Leaderboard too. Could be some delays with bad weather the rest of the weekend in Augusta.

Tee to green, Tiger is playing insanely well. He could easily be at -10. Hopefully, he can find something with the putter before tomorrow. Hard to imagine he's going to keep missing every putt from 5-10 feet.

Unlikely that leaderboard stays that bunched after tomorrow. A couple of those guys are going to go real low and separate.

For that reason, unlikely guys like Spieth and Rory have a chance despite being within six of seven of the lead unless they shoot 64 or better.

There's Koepka again. Has to be the betting favorite from here.

Can't believe Rose was essentially a no-show. Every time he got something going, he gave it all back. Not his week. But this leaderboard is wild--should be a very entertaining and exciting weekend.

Sweep the leg Johnny! Should be a fun moving day. It’ll separate the contenders from the pretenders. Think Ogre, Scott and Day fades tomorrow.

Unprecedented 5-way tie for first by 5 major winners and Tiger, Dustin, Phil and others all in contention, so I'm debating the same thing. Haven't missed a spring game since the late 90s, but tomorrow is likely going to be epic and if it's anywhere close to being this close on the back nine on Sunday, epic will be too weak of a word.

It was an accident. He was trying to do his job but slipped on the wet grass. Give the guy a break. What does everyone think of the mock turtleneck t-shirt Tiger was sporting? Does show off his guns. LOL

He was probably wearing sneakers instead of real golf shoes (w rubber cleats). On a wet course, slipping and falling very easy to do with rubber bottom sneakers.

Cantlay 7 under through 16 on his round today (-5 overall) with only one birdie on a par 5, so low scores are out there today...

@WhiteBus looking even more prophetic with Tony Finau, who has 3 birdies on first 3 holes to climb within one of the lead. Gonna be an incredible Masters Saturday.

Exactly, Tiger Fever at 103.5 degrees already.

Love the standings that show 5 at minus 7 and then only Woods T minus 6. Forgetting the other 3 guys there including Schaflie (sp) who shot 2 strokes better than woods round 2.

He's a security guard! They don't pursue people in golf shoes. Boots.
