The pairings favor Phil imo ...Phil with Kucher a great mix and Tiger with USA giant killer Ian poulter, who won't be intimidated. .not to mention Ian's pants perfectly match tigers light plum shirt lol. (Could be "Gilbert Grape" from the old "fizzies" days)

Webb Simpson to -9

and then Xander joins them

The feature on Xander and his dad the other day was awesome. Father was German Olympic athlete until hit by a drunk driver and took glass into his left eye.

Loved his line of needing to "destroy your opponent and then hug him afterwards".

It will be Windy early am before Sunday’s late pm storms with steady winds of 17-21 mph expected by 11AM at the Masters tomorrow.

Imo high winds are the greatest weather challenge for a golfer. Any golfer.

Back nine should be interesting if we have a tight leaderboard.

It’s a 3 man race between Woods, Molinari, and Koepka. Weather will determine who wins.

Finau is legit. Yeah he’s got big names around him but I’m not counting him out by any means.
This is as tough to predict as it gets. You've got a ton of talent bunched up within 4 or 5 strokes, earlier start, three 'paired' up, potential to finish at the 9th, inclement and changing weather conditions....

5 strokes might be too much to make up but I like DJ tomorrow.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of Finau but hard to backup a round like he had today. I eliminated him based on mean reversion.

He doesn't need another 64. With the forecast even par round can win tomorrow. It's going to be a very interesting day.

I just think he’ll comeback to earth and shoot E or +1 vs the field avg tomorrow. It will be a grind tomorrow. Better suited for the experienced players.

Only played 5 holes?? [winking]
Not only was it all 9, I three putted the 6th hole on a 15 foot uphill birdie putt by being way to aggressive. After a birdie at 7 to get back to -3, I lipped out on 8 and 9 from inside 12 feet. One of my regulars was like...you almost shot 29 or 30!!!!!! I was in a weird like trance. I saw it and hit it. Almost slow motion.

These pros are so amazing today they would destroy my local courses.

I will add Tiger is going to be hard to beat tomorrow.

Ok but this is about the other posters hole in one today.

Not to quibble but a hole in one of less than 150 yards should not be touted online by the poster.

Little sad that it will be over by early afternoon. Gotta figure out how to explain pre-final round prep at 9am to the wife.

Had a annual plan to meet my good tailgate friend for a great afternoon of golf, beers and cigars. Sucks but I'll be watching at work.

Holy Tiger Woods. What a pro round, snookering a 67 out of your worst ball striking of the week.
Koepka, too. Dude just willed that finish into fruition.

Molinari is the guy whose knocking down flags like he's Johnny Miller in '73. But will the pressure of Masters Sunday disrupt the incredible confidence, calm and feel you must have to play at the levels he's at, right now? Hard to think it won't.

Ideally, Molinari collapses and we get to see a down the stretch shootout between Tiger and Kopeka and anyone else keeping pace.

But Tiger Woods...hasn't won a Masters since 2005. Four knee surgeries, four back surgeries, so many comebacks that ended in pain,....and after all that, here is 14 years later, in the final group on Sunday. Pretty incredible.

Had a charity "gala" tonight up in West Orange (I did bid on and win an awesome picture of Bill Murray plotting to take down the gopher in Caddyshack), which started at 5:30 pm, so I missed most of the golf today and just finished watching it on tape - it didn't disappoint. Three 64's, including one by Finau that I thought would've had him in the lead, but Molinari is a friggin' machine out there - when was the last time he had a bogey? He's really going to be tough to beat, even by Tiger playing well (and finally making all his putts under 10 feet) and he did beat Tiger last year at the Open when they were paired together.

The wild card tomorrow is the weather, as the forecast from 4 days ago is looking like it'll be pretty accurate with respect to the risk for afternoon thunderstorms. I understand moving the tee times up and going with threesomes off of both tees, but I hate not having the traditional Sunday afternoon/evening at Augusta. And probably even more importantly for the players, it's looking like the winds will be up for much of the day with ~15 mph winds and some gusts to 25-30 mph possible (although winds are really hard to predict accurately). If we get that kind of wind without any rain and some tough pins, I think 1 or 2 under could be a good score tomorrow.

Tiger being able to hit a low stinger under the wind should come in handy today. But the early tee time could work against him , not getting a full night sleep and being the oldest guy in contention by quite a few years.

Can’t he just go to bed early? He should get more sleep than most since he’s last up

I'm guessing since the leaders all finished around 7:30, they would all be going back to their houses and hotels, showering , eating, and since they were all probably physically and mentally exhausted, they 'd all be going to bed ASAP since they were all getting up aroun 5 to get to the practice range.
Maybe Dustin Johnson went out bar hopping though, lol

If the line of t-storms to the west holds together and proceeds at its current rate, the line would hit Augusta in the 1 pm range, although the first part of the line is weaker and could dissipate according to a couple of models. Stronger storms are likely to hit in the 2-3 pm range - likely a close call on finishing by then. Also, it's not expected to be continuous t-storms after 3 pm, so there could be some breaks in the precip to allow players to finish today, if the storms hit before everyone is done.

Let’s see what the course will give these guys. You can’t force it with the weather and pin placement. Can someone go low or is it about survival? This is going to be great.

I don't see Molinari giving it back. Someone has to go get him. Tiger now within one.
