Yeah tiny Morton to get Whitehead. It saved his job. Sometimes people do whatever it takes.

Rodriquez also played for Tiny Morton and Delgado played for Antigua who was an assistant at SHU. Those 3 guys all came in the same season and along with Carrington completely turned SHU around.

You have it back way. An agent paid Whitehead to leave the Hall.

Ummm...

"According to Yahoo Sports, an ASM balance sheet titled “Loan to Players” listed Whitehead as receiving $26,136 during his freshman year at Seton Hall in 2014-15. Another document listed Whitehead as receiving $37,657 and mentioned that he was 'setting up payment plan'.

Also listed in the documents is a $9,500 loan from the agency to former Seton Hall assistant Tiny Morton. Morton, who coached Whitehead at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, joined Seton Hall's program with Whitehead for his freshman season of 2014-15 before returning to the high school ranks."

Whitehead didn't leave until after his sophomore season, correct? Should I post the Stripes video again? No. Never convicted.

I was pulling for Powell because he is a fighter. I also like how the team is made up of a lot of kids from around the region.

Still, I find it perplexing how Carino predicts this i this team could make a final four push next year.

After two first round knockouts, and the team saying " We didn't know they were that good."

I am not knocking them. I just find the predictions not based on past history to be weird.

Powell should have been ejected first half of the BE Tournament semi’s. Blantant intentional elbow to the chest. Dirty player, great shooter.

You don't know what you're talking about. There is absolutely no truth that Willard or SHU made any payments for Whitehead. If Whitehead did indeed receive paid benefits while he was enrolled at SHU, it came from a sports agent.

You're a bitter Rutgers' fan who can't stand that Rutgers has not made the NCAA since 1991, and has not won a game in the Tournament since 1989. Has it really been 14 years since it had a winning Season? To mask your bitterness and envy, you find the need to denigrate SHU whichhad moderate success over the years. This Board has a lot of good and knowledgeable posters, but you are not one of them.

I stand with Willard, Sean Miller, Will Wade, etc. They are the victims! No way could they have known these nefarious agents were paying their kids to attend their schools with the same sneaker affiliations. These agents were as stealth as MI-6. Sneaky bastards!

And I am (very) envious of SHU's run these past four years. No question.

They didn't have a 1st Round knockout last year.

They lost in Rd 2 to Kansas-----in Wichita.

Pretty sad record. They sold their soul, did crooked stuff, bribed recruits by hiring family members and coaches, and all for what? One meaningless NCCA win.

I believe they won a Big East title as well. Face it, Rutgers fans are jealous of SH's success. No doubt about it. I would love to beat Kentucky in front of 18,000 fans. Did KW sell his soul for Tiny and Whitehead....of course he did. It got him Delgado/Carrington as well and a Big East title. I'd say that was a good investment. KW is still making 7 figures for a small "investment". In today's NCAA climate it was a smart investment. Pitino hire hookers for high school recruits and didn't even get fired, let alone NCAA sanctions. UNC systematically and institutionally created fake classes/grades....and face NO SANCTIONS. LSU is a top 10 team. They have Naz and Hyatt, guys we wanted. Their coach is on tape about making a "strong offer". At least he got fired, but LSU will never face sanctions. Kyk says it was $125,000 for Naz and I have no reason to doubt him and have heard similar stories. That's how the game is played at the P5 level. If you want to run with the whores, you need to be prepared to be a *****. Get your heads out of the sand and read that last sentence. If we truly want to be relevant and win games in March, then that's what it takes. Otherwise be satisfied with 18 wins as a ceiling, mid B1G at best, maybe make the tourney very other year and never get past the 2nd round. Love Pike and doing a great job, just stating the reality of NCAA P5 basketball.

Technically Willard didn't break any rules but hiring Tiny Morton to get Whitehead and Rodriquez and Antigua to land Delgado was kind of unethical and sleezy. Many SHU fans have even admitted this. In fact Morton only stayed one year and Antigua went to South Florida shortly afterwards. Whitehead accepting money from an agent is against the rules but so far SHU has avoided any punishment. Things can still happen but they might just luck out as well.

It’s so dumb to talk negatively about Seton Hall coming from a Rutgers position. We have not done anything in forever. We have not been 500 in forever. All we have is hope and nothing else. They go dancing and many of us are just ButtHurt and resolve to talking crap about their coach and program. All the while we are always in last place or very near the cellar. Seton Hall we be loaded again next year and will come to Piscataway and probably win. Stop hating and focus on our program to talk about the Hall when we traditionally suck is just dumb.

I am by no means butt hurt and do not influence either program winning or losing, so I am just making a comment about what I read.

Seton Hall is a better program than Rutgers. I have no problem saying that.

Remarks about Seton Hall going to the final four next year are a little ambitious after they just lost in the first round.

Williard cheated, hired coaches/handlers to get recruits and still almost got fired.

That first year was a disaster.
Wasn’t until the sophomore year of the “acquired” recruits that SH made the NCAA tournament.

Sorry, facts are facts. Regardless of who says them and what team they root for.

SHU’s 2016-2018 success was 100% based on cheating. This year was coaching. They lucked out playing in a **** big east. Imo if RU was in the big east we’d be dancing this year. AWFUL conference this year

No matter what SHU will be very good next season adding the big shot blocker from Florida State. The RAC will be rocking when SHU visits. It could be one outstanding game. SHU only beat us by 6 at the PRU Center this season and our frosh were still in the learning stage at that time. Thiam and Kiss played a lot in that game. Harper, McConnell and Johnson improved so much as the season went on.

I mean lets be realistic. Was SHU landing the big 4 today with the new rules put in place to eradicate cheating? The answer is no

It was perfectly legal and within the rules. He parlayed it into 4 and maybe 5 straight NCAA appearances.
