@bac2therac great analysis as usual.

One thing that you said that really can’t be understated is we won because we we’re the better team last night. Not because OSU had a bad night or we got breaks. We went toe to toe and made more plays to win.

Agree 110% and said that in another thread. We were the better team last night and OSU did not play badly.

Great write-up bac.

Our offensive output has actually been somewhat consistent so far in B1G games:
1.05 PPP
1.02 PPP
0.88 PPP
1.03 PPP

Obviously it's a four-game sample but that Maryland game sticks out.

The defense has been quite poor however, about 0.04 points per possession worse than last season:
1.22 PPP
1.10
1.07
0.98

Of course we've played three of the top six offenses and four of the top 7 defenses and it's really the MSU gashing that skews the numbers.

If we finish around 0.98 points per possession offensively and 1.08 points per possession allowed defensively, that should be enough to keep us out of the basement.

Hmmmmmmmm. I am thinking someone being booted out of the rotation might have something to do with your numbers.

Kiss? He wasn't our problem defensively against MSU. Ward and Tillman got whatever they wanted inside. I believe Kiss was on Langford that game and he had an alright game, nothing groundbreaking. and I don't recall the problem being that players had to leave their man to help Kiss.

I forgot another point.......

Baker being rested with 5 minutes left.....did it pay dividends with 10 seconds left?

Perhaps....that was some lineup out there....4 freshmen and a soph in Carter...am I getting that right....Harper, Mathis, McConnell, Johnson, and Carter.....meaning we played a stretch with ZERO players from the previous season

I think Doorson was in at that point, not Johnson - if it's the point in the game where the announcers commented on there being "three freshmen in the backcourt".

It was... and what was more amazing was I wasn't worried about any of the three freshmen being in the game together. Kept talking to my wife about how Mathis was going to be a baller for us, and how high Harper's upside is.
