It is real important not to let the last game have such an impact on thoughts about a team or individual player.
Against Maryland we went 20 or so possessions with just about nothing and eventually our defense suffered. What would have happened had we converted on 25% of those empty possessions? Might we be looking at a tied score coming in to half and a totally different game?
If someone can tell me how Kiss, Baker, Harper and Issa are going to do from the perimeter I'd be confident with my prediction. Are they just in a slump or is it the norm? Or a combination of both for our perimeter players.
Most OSU players will remember how easy it was to win last year at the RAC.
I expected us to be 6-14, which right now i am waffling on. Embedded in that prediction is to win a few games like this that we weren't expected to win.
I am a reversion to the mean guy. Most, including me, are down on the program right now and even having doubts whether it will be turned around. This was to be expected because progress is NOT linear.

The home court advantage has been neutralized by league opponents having better talent/shooters .

quite frankly, I do not see a home court advantage at the RAC, people that continually bring it up are living in the Waters/Bannon years and that is 15-20 years ago. The sad truth is that the RAC is dead and neutered by years of bad basketball. A few cheers and roars here or there does not change that. Its not an intimidating place to play. This current crop has allowed sisters of the poor to build big leads on them as well as Big 10 schools. There is zero intimidation surrounding the RAC. In fact I might argue RU plays better on the road
I love that play, especially since we're 1 for 2 with it. But teams will be expecting it, so we'll switch things up and go with the Triple Lindy. Please no alley oop (and oop should be emphasized) to start the game......

The RAC lack of impact is based largely by Rutgers teams that are over matched in talent/ shooters. The short spurts of excitement occurs when Rutgers makes a dunk or when fans get mad at the referees. The inability to match baskets with opponents that have a pulse on offense makes the RAC a arena that has little impact on the final game result.Losing has been ingrained into the rafters of the RAC making the interior as unappealing as the drab exterior. The intimation factor has been gone for decades .Winning matters in so many different ways.quite frankly, I do not see a home court advantage at the RAC, people that continually bring it up are living in the Waters/Bannon years and that is 15-20 years ago. only way we win the game is if our guards can get in the lanes. This will allow our bigs to crash the boards and get a lot of blue collar points. That was the magic with Sanders. Big reason why our rebounding numbers are way down.
lets see if that holds up at the end of the season.36% OREB (22nd) vs. 33.3% (43rd)
73% DREB (115th) vs. 70.9% (199th)
