I know, I know, it's not nice to kick someone when they are down, but hell, the guy is stealing $2M per year, so here it goes:

The moment Ash got scared and hired Kill to slow down the offense and run out the clock, he sealed his fate.
He completely reversed everything he said.

I truly believe that if he had stuck to his plan and hired another spread-type OC we would be showing marked improvement offensively in year 3 and at least competitive against the rest of the division, if not projected for a bowl.

How about we add a pat Hobbs quote here that will live on forever .
From December 2015 on chris Ash:

"In 25 years in higher education, he's the single best interview I've had with any individual," said Hobbs, the dean emeritus at Seton Hall Law School.


"And I say that not because it was a polish or like an interview technique. He is the person that came to this with the most knowledge of Rutgers and where we are, with a plan in his head for how we were going to attack this and what we were going to do.

We are circling the rim then down into the bowl, he never clarified which bowling he was referring too. So in a way he is a clairvoyant he was right all along. We are going to be in a bowl. Just not the one we hoped

Hobbs forgot to mention he's interviewed people for two positions in his life: nanny and head football coach at a B1G school.

I would say ash’s arithmetic is worse than mine. The goal is to score more points than the other team.

So was Ash just spewing pure "tell 'em what they want to hear" ******** (apparently what breezed him through the interview) or has he just been that terrible at doing what he wants?

Not a good look either way.

Well, perhaps a backhanded compliment but at least he wasn't the RU head coach who said "one day our better will be better than their better" after another bad loss.
