No he wouldn't. Here is an article saying it would take Saban 4 years which I think is underselling it. No way Miles would do it in 2.

1. Kyle Flood: Show cause is over and he can come back to finish what he started.
2. Darryl Hazel: He did beat Kyle Flood.
3. Norries Wilson: Well the pressers would be livelier.
4. Terry Shea: He did develop one qb, which is one more than Ash.
5. Art Briles: Just let the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department house his recruits.

RR has produced some good offensive teams but trouble and law suits follow him around like a black cloud. In a huge market like RU is in the media would eat him alive and we all know how well RU handles scandal.
After 35 ish years of watching this tectonic train wreck. I'm convinced we will never be more than a occasional flash in the pan going forward.

I think he may have some attachement about returning to coaching and NCAA sanctions where he goes. That may have expired, not sure. Probably sits in his AD office at Youngstown St dressed like the Monopoly Guy and counts his Ohio State money.

Hell yeah! He's more in tuned... Jim Tressel would definitely be back if he thought he could still do it. The man spirit is crushed by the nature of college football... if it was up too old Jim the players will be getting paid.

I’m just leaning towards the conclusion the guy is lost and the longer RU has him the worse it’s going to get. Be interesting to hear what you have seen out him that points to an eventual turn around. Heck I think most fans would be happy with an iota of improvement on any aspect of the game.

Dude you piss me off... your just a voice in the National chorus. Our pessimistic media dupe people like you.. at the end of the day the program is the only thing that gets hurt.
Ash sucks. But I don't know how anyone can say we didn't get better from year 1 to year 2, going 2-10 with no conference wins and 4 shutout losses by more then 40 points to 4-8 with 3 conference wins and being mildly competitive against Michigan and PSU into the second half.
With all the NFL talent that has come out of RU the last decade, I’m in disbelief that these players haven’t given back to the program financially. Weight room improvements and locker room upgrades should be financed by pro alumni support. There’s a disconnection between the program and former players. I blame the administration on that.
NFL careers are incredibly short and that money is not guaranteed in the long run. They would be stupid to throw money at us.
It would be far more productive of Rutgers to be sourcing the thousands of alum who are on Wall Street or managing funds and doing very well for themselves. Which, from what I hear, Hobbs is doing a good job of.
What we do need, however, is for more of our ultra-rich alum (Home Depot founder, ex-Ford CEO, Goldman President) to start throwing serious money at us. Not sure if Hobbs has made inroads in that domain
Miles, Leach, Briles, Rodriguez and guys like that would never come here. Those guys probably wouldn't have their heart and soul in it. These are the kind of guys we should go after.

The 3 conference wins were a mirage. Ash got lucky, plain and simple as this year will show. As someone pointed out it is like when Shea won 5 games in '98. 0-2 conference wins will be the norm under Ash
WVU paid for their weight room almost entirely on Former players in the league. Brice Irvin wrote and check for $1 million after his second contract. My HS re did their weight room from NFL guys donating their super bowl checks. It can be done. RU has A LOT of players in the league.
