For those who missed it, Game Two was a CLASSIC! Hope my Dodgers can bounce back.
agree! I missed the first half of the game. Was the pulling of Hill pre-mature? or was he getting slammed and just lucky to have only given up 1 run?

Having Jansen pitch two innings was a mistake. Roberts over coached that one.

I think that having a closer who usually pitches only one inning pitch two is really risky. But teams seem to love to do it in post-season baseball.

Great game even if it was after 12PM. The little Venezuelan firecracker is fun to watch. Its like GoT baseball.

yeah, seemed more about taking out the guy who was in beforehand than wanting to get Jansen in for a portion of that 2nd inning. So many decisions but maybe they could have brought someone else in to finish the 8th and start jansen for the 9th.
Hopefully they'll build a big lead going into the 9th next time and let him take a night off and use someone else to close.

Been a Dodgers fan all my life, beginning in the 50's.
I was a huge Astros fan in the late 70's/early 80's, when they always seemed to have dominant pitching, but no hitting.

There were 8 home runs in the game, a post season record. There were 5 homers in extra innings, which has never happened in any game, much less a post-season game, in baseball history.
Roberts took out Hill, because he didn't want him to face the lineup for the 3rd time, based on the numbers. The problem came when he misused the bullpen, starting with Maeda, taking those guys out too quickly.

You want to talk pitching? Do the names Newcomb, Koufax, Drysdale, Valenzuela, Hersheiser, Gagne, and Kershaw ring a bell?

Not a fan of Mike Scott?

Loved Mike Scott, but he didn't really hit his stride until the mid-80's, when he mastered the split-fingered fastball.

so you undoubtedly remember the 6th game of the Houston-Mets championship playoff in 1986, when the Mets scrambled to beat Houston so that they wouldn't have to face Scott for a third time in a 7th game. Scott was lights-out in that series.

Now Game #5 is on the list of all time great WS games. It's the 1st WS game ever with "3" "3 OR "4" RUN hr'S IN ONE GAME. Clearly the 2 most evenly matched teams to play in this years WS. Amazing games.

They've played for 4:53 in the first nine innings.
It would have been a record for any game had it ended there.

Clearly the best two teams made it to the World Series and they are certainly putting on a show.
Robertson needs to learn that Jansen can't get 6 outs. Otherwise the Astros will win their first World Series. Thankfully no game tonight. I can use the rest.

The last time I had this much fun watching a World Series was in 1997 when the Florida Marlins beat the Cleveland Indians in six games. Both the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers of putting on one heck of a show. I'm not much of a baseball fan but for this world series I've been glued to the TV. I want to thank this great country for giving us such entertainment for free.

I know so many people "hate" Joe Buck. But he and Smoltz have been excellent in this World Series. Nothing over the top and entertaining.

Ok. Game 7 tonight. I have no idea who is going to win ,and neither does anyone else, but I have to think another crazy, exciting game is in store for all of us.

Some great stats on World Series game 7s. There have been 38 of them. Home team record is 19-19. Momentum does hold either
Game 6 winner record in Game 7 is 19-19.
It's a complete crapshoot.
Got over Yankees ALCS game 7 loss quick and jumped into this Series head first and what a great WS. Best since Cincy/Red Sox?

Wow, baseball really has fallen. A classic 7-game World Series gets one page and English Premier League threads get several pages? I was a baseball fanatic until my Rutgers years and then kind of lost interest. Hated free agency and found Rutgers sports. But I still enjoy a good baseball game and this series has been really good.

Anyway, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the Dodgers wouldn't have started probably the best pitcher in baseball, Kershaw, even on 3 days rest, instead of Darvish. Looks like he could've gone at least 6 innings. Could've been a 1-0 game right now. Oh well.

Besides all the HRs hit in the series, it must have set a record for number of foul balls hit straight back. Is there one batter on either team that hasn't hit one, excluding pitchers ?
