After some GREAT divisional and championship series (especially on the AL side), and a classic WS the 1st 6 games, I was hoping for a better game 7 BUT the odds were likely against another great, nail-biting, back-and-forth type of game. That being said - WOW - and congrats to Houston. They wanted it, earned it, deserved it, and got it! [cheers]

Wow, baseball really has fallen. A classic 7-game World Series gets one page and English Premier League threads get several pages? I was a baseball fanatic until my Rutgers years and then kind of lost interest. Hated free agency and found Rutgers sports. But I still enjoy a good baseball game and this series has been really good.

Anyway, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the Dodgers wouldn't have started probably the best pitcher in baseball, Kershaw, even on 3 days rest, instead of Darvish. Looks like he could've gone at least 6 innings. Could've been a 1-0 game right now. Oh well.

Like the Yankees before them, the Dodgers found out that scoring only one run in a game is not gonna win you very many games.
BTW,I'm thinking next year's Series features NY vs. NY part two.

What was a great World Series ends in a dud. Was hoping for at least a competitive game. The only good thing about last night was being able to shut the game off early and get a good night' sleep.
Congrats to the Astros. The best team in baseball came out on top.

Yeah, Game 7 felt like a letdown comparatively, but it was a really fun series to watch, especially that insane Game 5.

It easy to say this after the fact. No one was calling for him to start on 3 days rest when his pitch count was high in his last start.

Also I wouldn't use a football board to judge the popularity of baseball. Baseball is truly on the rise. Local TV ratings are up in many cities and playoffs have done very well.

We all could do the could've/would've/should've but I wish the dodgers would have ignored the 'rotation order' and just started Wood instead of Darvish. The astros could not do anything against Wood the first time he pitched (and also same at the end of game 7) so if they could have gotten a few innings out of him, then a few innings from Kershaw, it would have left 2-3 innings total for Morrow/Jansen. and on the flipside, they rocked jarvish the first time and I'm guessing were likely in his head for game 7 with all the 'other' stuff going on.
I stopped checking and fell asleep around the 8th inning, but was hoping that somehow when i woke up to check i would see a crazy comeback happened....oh well!

If the Dodgers' bullpen had performed as advertised, the Dodgers would have won the 2nd and 5th games, and won the series in 6.
