Rutgers vs Illinois / Game Thread

[rurichdog]

Happy with (what looks like) a win, but we could have destroyed Illinois.

[RUSK97]

Just watch, unless we intercept a pass, they'll score again and we'll have to endure the onside kick.

Quick - what're the Powerball jackpot numbers?!??

While the OL and RBs and Gio were great, I might have to give my game MVP to Juwaun Harris in his first start ever on defense, at safety, coming up with 10 tackles, an INT and a forced fumble. Helluva debut.

This is down right disgusting at the end. This is p poor coaching.

Agree Ash not showing much of his OSU D back ground

[RUsince52]

Our D backs look like their not trying even though we get no pressure at all.

Agree Ash not showing much of his OSU D back ground

Give him 8 4-5 star players to choose from and you would. Sheesh.

[ru66]

some around here are unbearable--geez be happy--remember some of our "experts" predicted a loss

[RU848789]

Nice touch letting Gio run the victory formation kneel-downs at the end. Also nice to see he's not on crutches or anything. Hope he's ok for next week.

[RUsince52]

OK, another win for us. Yea, Yea, Yea.

[RutgersRaRa]

We win! Been two years since we could say that in conference, and now we don't have the longest streak in the country.

[Scarlet_Scourge]

We won!!!!

[TonyLieske]

LOL
Comments from the board after we run on 1st down.....'Why do we run, run, pass"
Comments from the board after we pass on 1st down..... :Why did we pass on 1st down"

too funny

"The board" isn't a single entity. Different folks have different opinions. Even though it didn't connect I thought the pass on first down was the right call. Makes the defense think a bit before rushing the RB.

[rurichdog]

We're not the worst!
We're not the worst!
We're not the worst!
Lol

Will 5-7 be good enough for bowl this year?

Yea But can do better with the players he has than that

[PSUriseANDfire]

You guys definitely looked good today.

[RU848789]

274 yards rushing and Blackshear with 6 for 87 for 14.5 ypc. Nice.

F ing Ash, having Gio kneel down and Gio with a bad knee! Ash can't even get the V formation right.

I tell my kids when I coach a w is a w..... we will worry about working on things at practice... now we celebrate what we did correct to win....

#GiosMom!!!

I'm sure there would be a line for that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

[mildone_rivals]

Hang out a few more times--you'll be doing it, too.

Not me. I'm the game-thread yes-man.

[mildone_rivals]

That's because it is.

Well yeah, we're playing with 3/4s of our starters. But I mean even the backups look pretty beat up now. Gonna be a lot of players spending extra time in the training room this weak, I think.
