So basically not officially then. Officially means it comes from Laurent or the school.

not saying it wont happen. just think the "officially" part is funny.

Thought he had some talent. At times he looked really good but I guess not enough. Oh well.

Good luck to him!

Pikiell gets his own guys in.

Was more surprised with the Nigel Johnson move but man I wish we could just get a group of guys who wanted to be here. I love Mike Williams I hope he stays through all this and Corey has to come back !

It may sound like sour grapes but I'm totally ok with this. He is the rare player who went backwards going from a terrible coach to a good one. I really don't get him...he has some ability. I could see him doing well in a program like Iona.

I thought since the end of January that this might happen. I would not be surprised if we lose one more player. Either way it gives Coach Pikiell a chance to recruit his type of player. I have full faith in Pikiell. It might take a while to add a few more recruits so we might have to be patient. We have 4 months until August but I think Coach will bring in guys that he wants.

Just another reason why all those threads about predicting the number of wins next year were always very premature.

The final roster may not be set for several months.....last year, Gettys came in late August.

I was hoping players other than Johnson and Laurent would transfer. There are players on the squad that were far less productive.

Don't kid yourself, Choppin. Every prediction on this board for next year was made without Laurent, Bullock, and possibly Diallo in mind. Johnson was the only surprise.

He wanted to leave last year and gave it another year. He was the player I spoke about last spring that was thinking of transferring.

Hope he lands in a good place.

No surprise. Defense could have been his calling card to give him minutes, but it was often spotty.

I hope he finds success elsewhere.

Its a tough challenge for Pike to have to replace existing rosters guys with recruits available during the Spring signing period. We were fortunate last year with the Gettys pickup. But can we expect to repeat that success this time around ?

Laurent has some talent but for whatever reason he seriously lacked intensity this year.

Yes.

Recruiting during this time of the year is equally as important to recruiting the rest of the year.

With 700+ transfers, some of them available to play immediately, and spring signees you have to be ready and in Laurents case I know RU was.

@Russ Wood,
With your last sentence, do you mean RU knows who they're going to get? Or just that they expected the transfer?

With all the transfers happening at all levels of college basketball Rutgers should be able to find a center and a shooter for the small forward position. My concern, however, is the loss of 20 points with the departure of Gettys and Johnson. The replacements must have offensive skills because Rutgers had a difficult time scoring 60 points with Gettys and Johnson. There is very little margin for error with next seasons current squad.

Any news on Doucoure reclassifying? Is it a matter of open scholarships or academics at this point?

Aside from rumbles in here i have no idea where the rumors stem from. From everything I and many have seen there is no truth to this rumor.

A long time ago I was told that it was only a rumor that there is no truth to Doucoure ever re-classifying.

Laurent made some of the craziest circus shots I've seen, and did some things well for his size. We need better players if we're going to move up though. Wonder if he transfers to Youngstown State with his boy. Wish him well.

Good luck to Jonathan. He worked hard for two years and seemed to be a great teammate, even when he wasn't playing well. I hope he finds a place that fits him well and he succeeds.
