Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I have not followed baseball as close as I used to but beside interleague, didn't they go to more of a balanced schedule a few years back?Come on. You guys can't admit that the schedule was a benefit to the mets last season....and may well be again this season ?
Three of the teams in the NL East were awful last year and the mets were fortunate to play virtually 1/3rd of their games vs. this bunch.
The Yankees on the other hand had only one crappy team in their division....Tampa Bay. You guys would have experienced a tougher time with Boston, Toronto, and Baltimore for sure. So excuse me if I'm not impressed by the fact that the mets won 3 games more than the Yanks last season and qualified for the playoffs....where they're still looking to score a run.
And to not play one team that had a winning record last year in their first sixteen games this year...while they're trying to get their chit together...is a nice break for the mets.
Everyone knows that they don't make their own schedule. But you guys can't admit that it's a nice advantage for the Amazins ?
