Rutgers has made a change at quarterback and will start Gio Rescigno on Saturday at Minnesota. Chris Laviano had started the previous 17 games, but with the Scarlet Knights scoring a total of 14 points in their four Big Ten contests and Laviano completing just 48.3 percent on the season, an offensive shakeup was necessary.

USC did the same thing and Keyshawn was saying how the current starter Darnold is saving the season. Hopefully, Rescigno does the same.

I don't doubt for a second CL was trying his best so I'll never knock him.

That said, it is time to go in a different direction. I believe Ash and staff was just waiting for one of the backups to show they deserve the start. Gio gave them enough reason Saturday to make the switch.

I believe this move satisfies both the movement towards the future (I do not agree with Politi's view about Gio) and trying to win some more games. With no malice towards Laviano, he certainly has had more than enough opportunities to show he is the guy to run RU's offense.
Hopefully, we will also see some of our other future QB's get some meaningful snaps when the opportunities are right.

Never did his best, staying up all night playing videos, and illegal drinking is not
the best I want out of a young player trying to make the team. Also he spent
the summer making the OC his bff, I don't concider that doing his best. Hopefully
he gives us the finger on the sideline and gets thrown off the team, if I never see him
again it will be too soon.

Gio played the spread in HS. Flood was planning on using him to practice against only. Now he will get his chance to start. He and Rutgers are both trending on Twitter.

Good Times!

Well boo-freekin-hoo. Panties still in a bunch over the crap at the Maryland game? The classless louts deserved more than a finger. If he gives "us" the finger on the sidelines, it would likely be after idiots start yelling crap at him. Are you planning to do it? If so, will it make you feel better? If not, why would you even bring it up.

Sorry but your post says more about you than it does Laviano.

I am assuming that Oden is the number two. Only because Ash should be looking towards next year as well and it seems those two and the incoming Lewis will be in the mix next year.

This is a massive, yawning chasm of butthurt.

now the question is,what took the OC about seven games to finaly say..gee we run a power spread with a QB that is no threat to run the ball, which is one option of running this type of offense?:flushed:
Merhinger has a loooooong..way to go..hopefully his Bromance with Laviano is done now.

Darnold is a stud. Super accurate with a big arm and athletic.

He is the best freshmen QB at USC since Carson Palmer.

The coaching staff selected Brown and according to many, the coaching staff should always be trusted. In addition, Brown did better in practice than Darnold. (I guess the coaching staff is wrong sometimes and the best practice QB does not always make the best gameday QB.)

BTW, Keyshawn, the USC homer, would love you for the last line and he feels that Darnold is even better than Palmer. If this is the case, the USC coaching staff dropped the ball.

In practice, Darnold was lighting it up. His play isn't a surprise.

But coaches make decisions on two things typically:

Experience and practice. I am sure Browne looked good in practice too, and had the experience edge. Doing what Darnold is doing in practice is one thing. Few expected this to translate this well to live games.

Kid will be in the NFL before long. You can already see that.

What are the odds we see posts like "we want Laviano' at 1 pm Saturday.
It might happen, only because I think Gio is likely to throw interceptions. He has to throw the ball at some point. That is why I had commented about fans hating on Gio in 5...4...3... plus fans just hate the starting QB going all the way back to Ray Lucas.
