Question: is this decision FINAL? There was the QB is not a revolving door quote, and Pelzmann's statement below.

Ash announced Monday that Giovanni Rescigno will be the starting quarterback going forward, replacing former starter Chris Laviano.

"We need a spark,” Ash said. “We need to get something going offensively. (I’m) excited to see what Gio can do with the offense moving forward.”

What are the odds we see posts like "we want Laviano' at 1 pm Saturday.
Only under the following conditions:
  1. Gio is struggling
  2. The poster is a Laviano friend / family member / fan.
This will ruffle some feathers for some, but Laviano cannot claim he never had a legitimate chance or he should be the starter. I expect Gio to make mistakes Saturday that he probably shouldn't because he hasn't played much.

maybe the kid wasn't ready

now the question is,what took the OC about seven games to finaly say..gee we run a power spread with a QB that is no threat to run the ball, which is one option of running this type of offense?:flushed:
Merhinger has a loooooong..way to go..hopefully his Bromance with Laviano is done now.

@KSargeantNJ: As a public service to #rutgers fans and media alike, Rutgers' new starting QB is pronounced Reh-sheen-yo.

#FreeFortay

Fortay threw the best deep ball of any QB in RU history. I was solidly in his camp. In the end, Ray was the better QB and the offense played better with him. BTW, there have been some recent Ray clips. Can you believe the difference in the size of the shoulder pads. It's like the 70's short -shorts of the NBA and the newer shorts that go down to the ankles.

Geez, dude, give it a rest already. You hate the kid--we get it.
No you don't get it at all, the coaches flucked up, they are the ones that made up their minds,
and stuck with it too long. It is the coaches I'm disappointed in, for their poor judgement.
and Certain fans who thought the OC was going to change his lack of skills.

The best part about this news is that he hopefully will be starting against Indiana after an upset win in MN and someone we like will be in the stands watching:

Still can't understand why his Dad has such a big smile on his face. I bet he likes motor boating and other sports. That dude in the middle looks like he is concentrating real hard to just look straight ahead and not down.

It's about freakin time. We were going nowhere with Laviano. Also hoping Rettig is 1st off the bench if Gio falters or gets hurt. Sprinkle in some Oden to see what he can do along with getting him some experience.

I'd put the odds of that at about zero.

Hopefully there'll be no need for anything like that, but if there's a call for anyone else it will be for Oden. We've seen the Laviano "movie" ad nauseum and the time has definitely come to change the channel.

I wish Gio all the best. He's earned his chance.

Move on from Rettig.

Rescigno's old man definitely out kicked his coverage...good for him.

His wife has a big smile too, does she like motor boating too, or just floating on her back?
