I like the scars on the helmet. I can do without them on the rest of the uni. The helmet is unique and interesting. The scarring on the uniform looks dirty/discolored.

Well they are supposed to be sword scars and you can't get that can you without making faux? It is not supposed to be football scars . Sword scars because we are Knights! Get it??
We might as well face it. As long as Nike holds our contract, we probably don't have much say. Thankfully we aren't Oregon with all the stupidity that they wear, but since we don't have a classic, traditional look, ie Bama, Penn St, Michigan, we'll probably change every few years since that's apparently what everyone does now

When you aren't a classic program a classic uniform is a boring uniform. The 05 uniforms were bland then and are complete outdated crap now. I'm not in love with the current uniforms but people who are clamoring for the uniforms from 10 years ago need to realize that RU isn't ever going to do that and shouldn't if they care at all about their brand. If Alabama had RU's football history there is no way they would have their current uniforms.
This is the fairest and most rational reasoning for not having a traditional look.....but I do know enough about design to know that there are ways to look both traditional and cutting-edge modern at the same time. I think Michigan State has done that.
I'm fine with your thoughts, but not being able to see and read names and numbers is ludicrous. So keep the chrome, keep the scars, keep everything if you like...but for gods sake ask NIKE to please make the names and numbers white so my kids, myself and everyone I sit with can see them...is that to much to ask?
That's fine, I don't particularly love the home uni's either and the number color is an issue but I like that we aren't looking generic like Oklahoma or something. Even if the next uniforms are Michigan State-ish that would be okay but the 05-06 uniform style just isn't happening.

Someone posted the Michael Jackson Thriller eating popcorn gif on the bball board and it triggered bad memories of watching home football games.
Maybe Nike can dust these off since ASU switched to adidas. Replace Yellow with Red. Maybe we could get the knight sword version of the ASU pitchfork on the helmet. I hope we could get a complete Nike rebrand and finally lose the dumb knight helmet battleship looking logo.

Georgia Southern has zero football history and has Alabama's uniforms. Minimalist/no gimmicks/no battle scars. I think these unis in Scarlet Red/white pants would by first choice for 2016. All whites / red helmet away jersey and all black being third option.
I wouldn't call 6 FCS National Championships and winning an FBS Conference Championship in their first FBS season "zero football history." But yeah, it's the boring, plain guy in me who rather see plain, legit football uniforms like Alabama or Georgia Southern than fake battle scars, glow in the dark wings, oversized Pistol Pete faces, outlined colored logos that you can barely see, and any other BS Nike and Adidas has turned football uniforms into.
How to fix the uniforms:

-Make the home uniforms' numerals white

This. I'll go along with anything that's not completely bonkers like the MD flag unis but please can we see the numbers. I don't even need to see the names. After a few games I knew who is who just by the numbers.

I like any helmet that gives us a Scarlet R. A Scarlet helmet with a Scarlet R with white outline would be cool. I have a hat like that. It's my favorite Rutgers hat.

No. They're not. Come on, there are other reasons these uniforms aren't good that you can latch onto. Don't waist your time on this one which isn't true.
I actually agree with you that they aren't actually salmon. I think it's just more of a joke because they aren't are traditional red. They're some other hideous shade of red.
Pantone 185 is Rutgers red/Scarlet stick with it and you can not fail.
I too want to see the 61' uniforms, if the kids play like its 1961!So someone got a hefty paycheck basically designing a 2016 Rutgers jersey that was the look of the 1961 team?
