THERE’S our common ground PPD! Absolute delight in stories like these. Thanks for sharing, Brother!
Same here. We may be in the minority, but I take no pleasure in a kid failing to live up to expectations.I am not sure I understand your post. I, for one, do not take any pleasure in seeing a young man's future ruined, even if it was by his own actions

I wouldn’t conclude his future is ruined. If he can play, we all know he will land somewhere.I am not sure I understand your post. I, for one, do not take any pleasure in seeing a young man's future ruined, even if it was by his own actions
Well we both are local and many of our regular posters aren’t. Sorry, but I have lived in Chicagoland my whole life and am tired of the aura of Athletic superiority that many bestow on our friends down South. It’s like any local recruit in Football or Basketball that doesn’t go to the state school is some sort of traitor. The arrogance is fever pitch when they are mediocre. It is unbearable when they are better than average. Please guys, don’t ruin some of our posters’ chance to promote their holier than thou attitudes. And yes, I do enjoy seeing a program who’s demise in inextricably linked to our sustained success, who is arguably our biggest rival, who has taken umbrage with the whole premise of us being Chicago’s Big Ten team and has taken numerous steps to undermine that concept, continue to take missteps and lose footing on every positive step they seem to take.
After the fanfare of Lovie coming on board, all immediate disciplinary and issues and transfers out of the program were ‘blamed’ on those kids being Beckman’s or Cubit’s recruits, that Lovie’s were beating them out and so they were disgruntled and transferring. Seeing Lovie’s own recruits now getting suspended, transferring out of the program and or being out for the season as an ‘academic redshirt’ because they can’t meet minimum NCAA academic standards, is keeping that program right down in the dumpster, and is all but removing and chance of them becoming a recruiting competitive threat very soon.
We have owned them so much in recruiting and on the field, and they are so bad, that I feel more pity than antipathy for them. It's really rotten down there.Well we both are local and many of our regular posters aren’t. I wasn’t taking glee at the kid being forced to change schools even if he brought it upon himself. I do take glee in the Illini faithful eating their words when they tout their players are program changers and then completely reverse course when they leave school. “We don’t need them anyway”. Anyone see the attacks on the 4 star lineman that ended up at ISU? How about the social media attacks on Mark Smith in B Ball?
People can hate on OSU, Michigan, PSU or whoever, but I struggle to understand how you can be a NU fan and not have the Fighting Lovies at the top of the dislike list. This is supposed to be our rival!
They're supposed to be, but they aren't.This is supposed to be our rival!
That’s exactly what they say. See themselves as having rivalries with more historically successful programs. They're supposed to be, but they aren't.
I'm an NU fan, I delight in beating Illinois as thoroughly as possible, and I don't have Illinois at the top of my hate list. Perhaps that's because my father went there for grad school, and because a sister and brother-in-law are both alumni, and because all of them root for NU whenever we are not playing Illinois. 61-23 remains my favorite score.Well we both are local and many of our regular posters aren’t. Yep, but they are wrong. No one gets excited about beating Illinois, especially those historically successful programs. That’s exactly what they say. See themselves as having rivalries with more historically successful programs.
Kind of like NU’s game against them last year.Purdue scored the last 46 points..........
Lovie is too old to relate to kids. Worst hire in college football history. Just a nasty match as Illinois is a great School.Purdue scored the last 46 points..........
Lovie is 8 years younger than Nick Saban......Lovie is too old to relate to kids.
And another...
It’s a train wreck in Champaign. And I love it.
And Bennett Williams was also All Big Ten Freshman. The narrative was look at all these young stars we have coming through the ranks. They will be the youngest team every year at this rate.He was an All Big Ten Freshmen TE for them last year. Lovie has not only lost leftover players from the previous staff, he is now seeing kids from his own recruiting classes starting to transfer. Their 2019 class is anemic now even when factoring in the highly rated recruit from St. Louis. Just wait what to see the panic mode that sets in among the Illinois faithful when that kid decommits. It's getting uglier by the minute down in Champaign.
Wow. Didn't pull any punches. Wonder who recruited those kids??All is not well in Lovie-Land:

Isn't that why God invented Rutgers?Somebody has to finish last

I don’t believe anything has ever been Lovie’s fault in Lovie’s mind. All is not well in Lovie-Land:
