Read their recruit list to date. They do not appear to be trending in the right direction. That would be a mistake. I think he is a good coach. Purdue's program was in shambles when he took over. I think if they give Hazel a couple of more years, he'll make them competitive. I really like their freshman QB and RB.
My thoughts are "yes." I imagine he circled this game as a legitimate chance to beat a ranked team. He got his team to play well on the road. But could not get the win.
Stick a fork in him after the season.
My opinion.

I agree. I think the QB was pretty strong. I hate saying this because I've got scars more than a decade old, but I also like some of the wrinkles in John Shoop's offense. He used motion to give tactical advantages, which is not something NU does frequently. That would be a mistake. I think he is a good coach. Purdue's program was in shambles when he took over. They had 14 2 stars in 2015 and 10 2 stars in 2014. I'd imagine they'll be doing another 2 star grab between now and signing day.... So in other words, Glades will be picking them for next years National Title.Read their recruit list to date. They do not appear to be trending in the right direction.
Is that true about Spack? I knew Hope was named coach-in-waiting - I had assumed that that was Tiller's doing, as I think that's typically been the case.Sometimes bad decisions can have consequences for many years to come.
Tiller's preferred successor was Brock Spack who would have been a great choice. Instead the astronauts in charge chose Danny Hope.
Hazell is still digging out of that mess.
By my reckoning they look improved over last year and remind me of our 1994 team, hopefully less the gamblers.
Dumping Hazell would be a huge mistake and would most likely set the program back another 3-4 years.
No. They already announced that they were bringing him back.My thoughts are "yes." I imagine he circled this game as a legitimate chance to beat a ranked team. He got his team to play well on the road. But could not get the win.

Coaches get the vote of confidence all the time to get fired weeks later.No. They already announced that they were bringing him back.
Fair... but there are always going to be better jobs than Purdue open. There are too many better openings right now. Maryland and Illinois are better jobs in the conference. They might as well hope Hazell can show signs of life in Year 4.
