Not sure it is that easy to correct early tendencies. It is what it is. He has huge amount of talent but I'm more concerned with his accuracy. It's been good pass bad pass. You may disagree but I believe it will take a season or two prior to him getting comfortable in the pocket, even though he has been a QB for years, but this isn't high school. I do think he has to be learning though. On that one scramble where he ran right to where the pressure was, he misjudged the speed of that DE and got sacked for like a 15 yard loss because he put it in the next gear a wee bit too late. That's called inexperience and those are the things he most likely can correct after experiencing it one or two times. But his throwing and that stuff, it seems to me, will take a lot longer. He will not be getting much help from the WR. They simply don't separate and it's not all about speed. That's not on Thorson, and he probably would look a lot better if he had help at WR...but he doesn't.
I watched Andrew Luck last night. We all agree that Andrew Luck is smart, quick reads, etc. Maybe the best QB in the nation. Well, TY Hilton was slightly banged up against a very good cornerback. Andre Johnson is up there in age. And there was virtually no separation so Luck tossed a couple INT's and looked perplexed. So, for me, it's really hard to tell where Thorson is at. I'm sure he is progressing but some things are out of his control. I also think his read options will be a lot better VERY SOON. Again, I think it's a question of judgement and not being used to very quick LB's and DE's. It's truly amazing we are getting away with him learning as he goes, but a real credit to the coaching and the defense.
