What he's attempting to pull off in this thread. Lame.
Summary of "Rules For Radicals" by Saul Alinsky. This book is a guide to effective activism, providing strategies for creating a structured organization with a clearly defined goal!

That's interesting but I'm not sure he's familiar with or even aware of what you presented here as much as his method of debate reflects many of those tactics.
What he and the rest of the Left attempt is not only dishonest but diabolical. He suggests Republicans making honest attempts to responsibly cut deficit spending are equally to blame for our failure to stop it! I call it the "everybody does it defense". It essentially argues that any lack of success attempting to correct a problem means you are now equally responsible for the problem you failed to correct!
It does sound a bit like that "rules for radicals" memo you posted, but in my mind it's a disingenuous attempt to absolve Democrats for their consistent failure to join Republicans in their honest efforts to stop the taxing and deficit spending! Since Republicans can't force Democrats to agree to their proposals to cut taxes and spending, Democrats turn around and blame Republicans instead of themselves.
So in effect all the Left has to do is dig in their heels, refuse to offer solutions, then blame Republicans for their inability to move the needle. It's a clever but diabolical strategy, because it lacks an end game winner to solve the problem while at the same time declaring it essentially unsolvable simply by way of their continuing intransigence!
That's what
@MountaineerWV does when he claims Trump signed deficit legislation, while he completley ignores the valid attempts Trump made asking Congress to address the issue....through tax cuts, spending restraint, entitlement reforms and a balanced budget ammendment. Each and every one of those initiatives Democrats blocked and refused to participate in all the while blaming Trump for his inability to force them to join him. Disgusting.
The only way to stop these deficits is to stop spending money we don't have, grow the economy and use the surpluses generated from a growing economy to pay down the debt while we continue to reduce government spending and make it illegal to spend no more than we take in. There is no other way to fix this problem, yet the Left refuses to acknowledge that or participate in any of those honest efforts to solve it.
All they ever offer are more false promises of higher taxes and even more spending. That formula is exactly why we're in this mess and they are 100% disinterested in doing anything other than that to fix it. He proved that through his twisted logic trying to suggest it's actually Democrats who have been more responsible spending and taxing less than Republicans when in fact they have been in direct opposition to all of that for as long as I have been voting.
Beyond that I just don't like the guy. ITT I called him an inveterate liar which is demonstrably true. Debating with him is like tooth extraction because he wants to discuss why you have 10 cavitites instead of concentrating on getting the one aching tooth out? He throws in extraneous arguments tangential but not specific to any point in discussion, then gets you chasing the shiny object off point while never responding to the actual point you're attempting to make with him!
For instance I responded directly to his assertion that Trump "didn't attempt to force Congress to balance the budget" by linking him to Trump's balanced budget initiative. He glosses right over that, and then draws up unsourced historical spending between previous Democrat vs Republican administrations which has zero to do with how I responded to his assertion about Trump and then refuted it.
Because Congress never adopted a balanced budget ammendment, he blames Trump for the deficit spending they did send him instead because Trump signed it! I suppose in his mind Trump should have held out for either a balanced budget or perhaps even changing the Constitution before signing the fiscal year's spending Congress approved? It's a cheap and dishonest way to debate, even though he was fully aware of Trump's serious efforts to cut spending and end deficits, while accusing him of not being serious doing anything about it! Dishonest and disingenuous debate.
That's how he is and how frustrating debate with him can be. He never answers questions directly, never responds on point when challenged and always deflects to other arguments trying to force agreement on his terms which often have nothing to do with points under discussion.
It's the main reason I try avoiding engaging him whenever he pops into a thread accusing Republicans of everything he ignores on the Left. That's what they do. Accuse you of who they are, or find fault in you while they freely practice what they accuse you of.
He's nauseating.
