"Do you believe people making $200,000 and $400,000 should still get the child tax credit the same as someone making $50,000, $60,000, or $70,000 that really needs it?"
Someone making $200,000+ per year probably isn't struggling. It's just wasteful spending to print more money for this group.
Wow , I hope I can articulate this the way I want .
Why is it the responsibility of a person making 200,000 a year to help raise your child ?
Why should a person get something they did not earn ?
Most people who get big tax credits will not spend it on things of need for the kids , I know this ,I buy guns every year very very cheap because of this .
God knows I was raised very poor & I'm not rich now but I see no need in giving what I earn to someone else. Why does people who wont work the overtime, wont sacrifice to earn get a hand out? Those people joe is talking about is no different than me , I work hard , I go places I dont want to go & work for people I don't necessarily like , they can to .
Yes when my kids was young I got child tax credits, I averaged 70,000 a year because of overtime , working 7 days a week. A tax credit to all with kids no more for joe who dont try than for Bob who works overtime in his own shop .
We are rewarding laziness & lack of work ethics in the name of child welfare.
I wanted more as an adult, I wanted more for my kids .
I work harder , I work longer shifts, I paid for my kids college...
Punishing people who try hard is wrong.
