I can tell you based on the small sample size of black folks I talk to about it, they don't trust this "shot" to do what it's supposed to do, and a good many of them think it does something worse. I won't take it because it's not needed, and doesn't work anyway.

My own immune system is better, by any measure. Do you folks realize Trump is better able to fight off a Covid infection having survived the virus and developed anti-bodies by his own immune system than Biden is by just taking that shot?

I’m simply pragmatic. Not aiming to get banned. Vax is not 100% effective. I only have so many days to live and I don’t expect to spend those days absent all risks. So, I’m really hoping people are tired of living in fear and get back out and do things. I also have little tolerance for hypocrisy so saying we should be terrified of the virus while encouraging uncontrolled immigration makes no sense.

When is the country going to wake up and figure it out? Yes, the virus is a serious problem. I know first hand and am working through the follow up issues. But I can’t imagine a life with out mountaineer games, fishing, walks on the beach or going out for a good steak or seafood dinner. So, to me, its time to face fears and learn to do things as safely as possible in spite of the MSM trying to scare us into hobbits. That is not how we built our country.

ATL, there is one area that I’ve softened since fighting off the virus. And it is only in very specific instances with masks. While getting treated for about a week in ICU, I came in close quarters with the medical staff at out local hospital. They were on 12 hour shifts (had been for over a year) and fully encapsulated in protective breathing apparatus. In particular, the nurses were incredible and if in any way the masks reduced their exposure to the virus, I’d support it. And that goes for all in the the medical field that must come in closer contact with patients that need their help. I honestly don’t think it protects them more but if keeping a distance and wearing the mask makes them more comfortable, then they will get my cooperation. Jmho.

I hear ya. We flew into Lubbock Texas and were required to keep them on while on the plane and in the Airport. They (Southwest) actually kicked off one lady who refused to wear hers. I don't have a problem wearing them where private business requires it, but I do not believe they are effective preventing contraction. In the medical field they probably help reduce the spread of it on surfaces and such (similar to using disinfectants) but if the virus is going to get into you that mask won't stop it.

It's the hype and fear over NOT wearing one is what I'm resisting though.
