I think the health dept has enforceable regulations. Justice is using executive orders. Not a legal expert and not fond of the "rule", but is this any different than forcing food handlers to wash their hands? Hairnets? Etc? Honest question

F'n executive orders. These are the ones we don't like, right?I think the health dept has enforceable regulations. Justice is using executive orders.
I don’t think so. Things in WV might be different, but here, we haven’t had the pushback against it, but numbers are still going up. We instituted yesterday a restaurant and bar curfew of 10 pm. No more standing at bars, you have to be seated. All businesses require masks. Either the t-shirt material masks aren’t doing a damn thing, which seems likely, or something else is happening. Not a legal expert and not fond of the "rule", but is this any different than forcing food handlers to wash their hands? Hairnets? Etc? Honest question
I legit don't understand this thinking. The entire medical field is just in on whatever conspiracy we think this is?Either the t-shirt material masks aren’t doing a damn thing, which seems likely, or something else is happening.
Mostly yes but I guess it depends on who is issuing them and for what.F'n executive orders. These are the ones we don't like, right?
Not sooo fast my friend............Gov. Cuomo yesterday said he has spoken with people, including “people who claim to be nurses,” who said they “do not trust this vaccine”.Also vaccines are coming which will bring this into manageable range and then the economy will re-open fully ultimately.
You do you. I'll be getting the vaccine when it comes to my small town. Not sooo fast my friend............Gov. Cuomo yesterday said he has spoken with people, including “people who claim to be nurses,” who said they “do not trust this vaccine”.
Vaccination nuts aren't confined to 1 party. Honestly, pre Trump I would have said the Democrats/Libs had the lead in that department. Not sooo fast my friend............Gov. Can you link the Facebook video you watched? Why are all the world health departments/organizations in on this obvious ruse?Watched a video months back about those scarf "masks" that people wear. The conclusion of the video was those masks actually may be worse than no mask at all, as they help aerosol the virus even more as it passes through the thin fabric.
As far as an EO goes. It would be interesting to see if any business is willing to challenge the Gov on them.
People treat you like you are a dickhead because you act like a dickhead. Be better. Can you link the Facebook video you watched? Why are all the world health departments/organizations in on this obvious ruse?
I guess you don't have the video either? I hope no internettin' people think of me as a dickhead tho. I'm not sure I can go on. :joy: :joy: :joy:People treat you like you are a dickhead because you act like a dickhead. Be better.
Case in point.I guess you don't have the video either? I hope no internettin' people think of me as a dickhead tho. I'm not sure I can go on. :joy: :joy: :joy:
dave is mads. lolCase in point.
Poor coop. Stop crying.dave is mads. lol
Still no video. Here's something from MIT about the neck gaiters. Not one to assume, but I'd guess Mntneer is talking about the Duke professor's video mentioned at the link. Hopefully this can clear things up? We'll see.

Thanks for sharing your feelings. An older article on mask-wearing but interesting none the less.
Beck writes of the “symptoms and symbols of risks” that combine in populations to create a “cosmetics of risk.” He suggests that people living in the present moment conceive of risk in terms of the physical tools used to mitigate risk while still “maintaining the source of the filth.” Beck critiques the cosmetics of risk as measures that are not preventive but rather act as a “symbolic industry and policy of eliminating the increase in risks.” I propose that the surgical mask is a symbol that protects from the perception of risk by offering nonprotection to the public while causing behaviours that project risk into the future.
Thus we have the means for a self-perpetuating system: the mask symbolically protects against infection just as it represents fear of that infection.
Good read. Thanks for the link.dave is mads. lol

Seeing that you responded so quickly indicates that you didn't take the time to read it...or you opened it and realized it was well beyond your comprehension level. Thanks for sharing your feelings.
Seems to be an article on psychology of mask wearing? I don't know. Masks are not the silver bullet when it comes to fighting the virus, nor is it worthless. Seat belts don't stop car deaths, but seat belts along with safe speeds and safer cars will lessen them. Masks don't stop the spread of the virus, but masks with social distancing and hand washing will lessen the spread of the virus. An older article on mask-wearing but interesting none the less.

Yes looking at the psychology of mask wearing. Like I said - interesting. Thanks for reading unlike moe-tard.Seems to be an article on psychology of mask wearing? I don't know. From the link you provide, it had this link to go along with your article:
Conclusion: Hand hygiene and facemasks seemed to prevent household transmission of influenza virus when implemented within 36 hours of index patient symptom onset. These findings suggest that nonpharmaceutical interventions are important for mitigation of pandemic and interpandemic influenza.
It’s not like we just started having these though. I’m not saying there is any conspiracy. Just something doesn’t make sense.I legit don't understand this thinking. The entire medical field is just in on whatever conspiracy we think this is?
To me, it's common sense what is happening. Bars, weddings, parties, other large get togethers are superspreader events. People are then passing it to family members, friends, co-workers at home/work where people let their guard down. People are testing too soon after exposure and taking a negative result as the gospel. Transmission is not rapidly occurring at outdoor events with distancing (see WVU games), stores or other places where interactions are pretty limited.
I do think a big problem is people think wearing a mask/gaiter/whatever makes them completely safe.Yes looking at the psychology of mask wearing. Like I said - interesting. Thanks for reading unlike moe-tard.
I think the problem is that way too much focus has been put on mask wearing. It might help but people wearing masks are getting sick too. The whole "wear a mask to save others" mantra is ********. The whole "if you dont wear a mask you are the problem" is ********. It is a virus. People need to be careful and if they get ill they need to quarantine and go see a doctor to start treatments. Its kinda been that way forever but until now most people dont think to go to a doctor with a cold or even flu.I do think a big problem is people think wearing a mask/gaiter/whatever makes them completely safe.
People are not following the instructions. I guess you haven't seen any Trump rallies...although in fact I know you have. There are plenty of people not wearing masks and social distancing, which is what is causing the surge. My in-laws are in FL and they say no one wears a mask there. I have a work colleague that moved to Asheville, NC and he said hardly anyone wears a mask there, and that is a very liberal area, but in the south. I had a friend who went to Nashville on business, and he said hardly anyone wore a mask. So, yes people aren't adhering to the guidelines.People are following instructions. Cases still go up. More restrictions follow. That is why people are pushing back. The people telling us what to do dont know **** about what they are saying.
Ok fear pornstar.People are not following the instructions. I guess you haven't seen any Trump rallies...although in fact I know you have. I'm not in favor of closing the economy. I like to make money as much as anyone else. But business is being surpressed now, because everyone sees the boogey man around the corner. Everyone needs to suck it up and wear a mask, not go out as much, and socially distance until the vaccine is in play until this thing is under control.
If that doesn't happen then its going to get so bad the states aren't going to have a choice, and then we're all ****ed again.
Eh. In a way we have just started doing these. I think colder weather, fatigue, lowish numbers for awhile, promising therapeutics, halloween, etc have lead to people becoming more adventurous/letting their guards down. I can't for the life of me get how that doesn't make sense. Don't mean that in a dickish way, just can't comprehend it.It’s not like we just started having these though. I’m not saying there is any conspiracy. Just something doesn’t make sense.
Nothing about fear in there moron. I said I don't want things to close down.Ok fear pornstar.
Ok. I don't think it's ********. Science has shown it not to be ********, but to each their own.I think the problem is that way too much focus has been put on mask wearing. It might help but people wearing masks are getting sick too. The whole "wear a mask to save others" mantra is ********. The whole "if you dont wear a mask you are the problem" is ********. It does make sense that these events are move often taking place indoors as opposed to outdoors and that the virus is transmitted easier indoors. It’s not like we just started having these though. I’m not saying there is any conspiracy. Just something doesn’t make sense.
Does anyone think that?I do think a big problem is people think wearing a mask/gaiter/whatever makes them completely safe.
Did you really just compare a virus with a 99% survival rate to the war bond and rationing effort of WW2? Surely, of all people on this board, you, Mule, didn’t just make that asinine of a comparison. The Axis powers were an existential threat to the world. This virus is a nuisance unless you’re old and infirmed. Good lord man.We wouldn't win WWII anymore. Gas and food rationing, no new cars, metal recycling. People made sacrifices for the greater good. Now people won't cover their cough because this is America, damn it!
Yes. Another issue is people getting tested too soon after exposure.Does anyone think that?
People have been eating at restaurants and bars since May. Where the **** have you been?It does make sense that these events are move often taking place indoors as opposed to outdoors and that the virus is transmitted easier indoors.
People were going to bars and restaurants and eating outside...not they are more likely to eat inside due to the weather. Its actually quite logical.
Guess you didn't read my post. I said they've been eating OUTSIDE, which doesn't seem to be much of an issue, and now due to the weather they are eating INSIDE, which is obviously an easier way to spread COVID.People have been eating at restaurants and bars since May. Where the **** have you been?
Lock down till everyone is dependent on government.Lockdown until we have how many Covid cases per day? Or what amount of deaths per day? What’s the metric you’ll initially use...and then pull it away like Lucy pulling the football on Charlie Brown? When the economy is destroyed beyond recognition, then what? Print more money and give it away like you’re making it rain at a strip joint?
Nothing in your post was remotely honest. Go sell fear somewhere else.Nothing about fear in there moron. I said I don't want things to close down.
99%+ survivor rate....yep I'm terrified of getting itIt's a medical issue, you wouldn't understand. You sound like a little girl, quit being a *****.
