I have never pretended to be something I am not.
What do you want to know? I am the civil engineer to ask.
It would have been difficult to get a BS in civil engineering since that was not my major.
hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Can one become a civil engineer yet not have a civil engineering degree, perhaps a different engineering degree? Or even something in a very closely related field? I know individuals who are called Field Service Engineers and some don’t even have a degree.hahahahahahahahahahaha.

At least one poster on here have claims to earn in excess of a quarter million dollars annually yet doesn't even know how to itemize deductions on a tax return or donate any of that windfall to charity to lower their tax burden.

Cracks me up EVERY time! [roll]
You have to have an ABET accredited degree in every state but Va. There are several ABET accreditted degrees that are not BS in Civil Eng. That is just to be a PE (registered professional engineer). You can be an engineer and not be a PE. You just cant sign plans. We have several engineers who are not PEs and dont need to be to do their job.Can one become a civil engineer yet not have a civil engineering degree, perhaps a different engineering degree? The sad part of this is trying to use someone's words against them and not knowing enough about the subject to realize you are wrong.hahahahahahahahahahaha.

You dont know what you are talking about again. Go figure.No. So when ***** dave says he didn't major in civil engineering but he is a civil engineer, he is lying. So sad.

I am in the exact same boat. Because of my degree I am limited as to which states I can be a PE. I still perform engineering every day.Correct. I'm an Engineer but not a registered PE. My degree really doesn't lend itself to it.

Not true but irrelevant.Technicians can’t be engineers. Sorry dildodave.
Probably true. Being. PE is important omif you want to work in govt. In our company and we are top 10 in the world, there are 3 people out of 400 in our group who sign plans. There are more who could if needed but they dont. Country is all fixed in on govt work. You never see a distinction between technicians, technologists and engineers in private work.Really, the PE exam is pointless for anyone that isn't in civil and maybe mechanical.

My sister is a PE and she does independant work signing off on plans for contractors to get permits.

That is more mnteers line of work. I design roads. When I moved from Louisville to the East Coast it was right when the housing crisis hit. My company had to buy my house and wanted me to "fix" all of these major things before they would buy it. A good friend of mine is a PE and owns a mid-sized construction/engineering firm. He came to my rescue and all of a sudden I had to do 5 grand in repair work instead of 25k. Most of that was redoing the roof on my outdoor pool room which was added after the house was built.

Technicians can’t be engineers. Sorry dildodave.

Can we get back to talking about what could be the largest single natural disaster in the history of the modern world and off of Cunty being made to look foolish?
Technicians can’t be engineers. Sorry dildodave.
I never claimed to have a BS in CE. I do design roads.LMAO! You don't design roads. Technicians don't design roads. You are a technician. You do not have a BS in Civil Engineering.
Technician vs engineer is an irrelevant argument outside of govt.Technicians often assist engineers but after years of experience, they can also become engineers.

It is just amazing to me that this isnt the top story in the world. Perhaps 5-8% of the worlds population is in danger of death or having their entire lives destroyed. Can we get back to talking about what could be the largest single natural disaster in the history of the modern world and off of Cunty being made to look foolish?
More of those to come. Wait until you see DDIs.Could you stop with the roundabouts? I hate those things.
I love roundabouts. So much more efficient than a damn stop light.Could you stop with the roundabouts? I hate those things.
I love roundabouts. So much more efficient than a damn stop light.
Not only efficient but much safer.I love roundabouts. So much more efficient than a damn stop light.
It’s fun watching people who don’t know how to use them though or just being in Saudi and watching the complete disregard for all things traffic safety related. Not only efficient but much safer.
But DDIs and RCUTs are the next thing.
