I have seen some funny stuff. Usually accidents are less lethal though and that is the goal. I remember being at a seminar a couple years ago and the discussion was about rougly 40k people killed in accidents at intersections over a period of time. If new designs could but accidents by 70% it would save 25k lives potentially.
