If millions are dead or missing I'd say we are already there but yeah if the dam breaches it will get much worse. Same thing almost happened in California a few years ago when the Oroville dam was damaged.due to lack of upkeep and heavy rains. My brother-in-law was under evaluation orders as they were ready to breach the levies around the farm land where he lives. Would have destroyed a lot of small towns but save Sacramento. Tough decision.

If that dam breaches, that would be a major disaster.

Even with all their media control and interference, it won't be possible to hide this if there are significant fatalities. Quite a few Chinese working for western companies are able to access information they wouldn't otherwise be able to get. "Deformed but safe"???

https://asiatimes.com/2020/07/three-gorges-dam-deformed-but-safe-say-operators/
I would need a better definition of what deformed means.

I mean it was supposedly caused by high water so any change was due to uncontrolled water which in dam speak is breech.

Chongqing is the city upstream that was (apparently) already flooded ( a city of 31 million --- almost twice the size of New York). Yichang (4 million folks) is a village immediately downstream of the dam. Not a good day for those people.

I looked it up. Wuhan is 313km from the dam. Probably would be affected.

Scientists following this said that given the amount of water involved well upstream, everything form the dam to Shanghai would take a hit it if breaks. Shanghai would be spared the worst, but everything else upstream from the east coast would be submerged. It's an unimaginable amount of water in a valley that has no room for it to go in most places. ...and there is a major tributary upstream of Chongqing that is yet to crest due to even more rains.

In other news -- a 6.6 magnitude earthquake in Tibet. Mother Nature is saber rattling in that part of the world right now.

This is bad news for these poor people. I did a little research on this when there was some fear of the Orville dam giving way-wife'd family would have been effected-that mud is the result of hydro erosion, there is term for it but can't remember the name. Once it starts it can erode feet of concrete in a matter of minutes.

29 nuclear reactors within the flood zone.
40% of their freshwater supply impacted.
Untold farmland and freshwater fish supply impacted.

It will be quite ugly.

As some one who has worked with a Chinese power company them have nuclear reactors at all is scary. But for them to be in the flood zone is really scary.

In the real world professionals dont worry about spellchecking social media posts. This is why everyone mocks needy little **** hairs like you.

In the real world, only pathetic, little, inferiority-complex, acceptance-needing, liars like you pretend to be something they are not. Very sad.

I just watch a video where it is going to get worse tonight and heavy rains predicted for the next week. Said if the dam collapse there will a 300 foot wall of water going the valley, nothing can live through that. They have my prayers.

I have never pretended to be something I am not. I dont even think being what I am would be something to brag about. On the other hand what I do really seems to bother you and I have definitely played that to make you look jist as stupid as I know you are. It was not difficult.

I have seen estimates of 50 to 400 million people affected. That is potentially larger than the US population. It is unthinkable to be honest. It would be a disaster of biblical proportions.

hahahahahahahaha

********, you are pathetic.
When I want medical advice I ask a doctor. If someone has a question about engineering I might be able to answer their question. I guess in your world being an engineer is something special. That is your problem. Apparently this simple concept bothers you.
