If House intel Dems had the goods to impeach Trump and convict him BOTH the Washington Post and NYT would have published it already. The fact they're publishing only anonymous sources who say the damning testimony was offered in committee is all the proof you need that House Dems got nothing.

Plus there is no vote being scheduled to recommend impeachment. So go back to work today and ignore all the media hyperventilating.

You're welcome.

Hey bub, a little friendly advice since you don’t seem to understand just how dumb you are...you know like telling someone their fly is unzipped when they don’t realize it so they don’t continue to embarrass himself...witnesses have been giving depositions before House committees made up of both Democrats and Republicans. These depositions are private because it is like examining witnesses in a trial or a grand jury, other witnesses don’t get to hear other testimony. The House does not convict, as you incorrectly stated.

You better honor your bet when you lose.

I'm still amused that some of these clowns questioned the validity of the inquiry because there was no House vote to kick it off.

Alright since you're so smart and familair with standard hearing procedures during Grand Jury testimony, tell me which member of the President's counsel cross examined those witnesses?

Then, since you're so familiar with standard Grand Jury procedures, tell me the last time Grand Jury testimony was leaked to the news media?

Make sure you follow your own admonition to me once that impeachment vote is scheduled OK country?

Hey country....why aren't Republicans able to call their own witnesses?

Why can't they read the transcripts on their own?

Why aren't these witnesses being deposed by members of the President's legal counsel?

Is that the way Republicans handled Clinton's inquiry? Was Nixon's inquiry behind closed doors with "secret testimony"?

Has Schiff called the minority forward to present their witnesses & evidence?

Are those "dumb" questions?

Yes? Well then why can't you answer them?

You must be pretty dumb? o_O

I'm still amused at people that claim to care about law and order not give two ***** about transparency and openness.

As long as Shift for Brain's is leading anything, behind closed doors, you better damn well believe their's reason to doubt it. Remember, he's the jackass that claimed he SAW evidence of Trump collusion, and most recently made up an entire fake exchange between Trump and the Ukrainians in an open committee session.

I'm still amused you Leftists think an impeachment happens without a full House vote to impeach?

Where is that vote?

You’re not doing this correctly for maximum entertainment value. Here watch,
........ “ the 2020 Presidential race could get really tight, ...... particularly if the House Impeaches Trump”. ......... “The looming recession of 2020 and House Impeachment could be trouble for Trump”.
........ etc. etc.

I can't get past the fact they have an iron clad case they have to "investigate" and won't take a formal vote on?

Each day you Leftists scream an impeachment is imminent yet fail to vote for it I'm beyond amused. I'm counting the extra votes you're canvassing for Trump.

Depositions? You mean legally binding testimony cross examined by Trump's legal defense and approved by a full house vote which all sides were allowed to provide witnesses to? Those depositions?

Dont make cuntry tell you that the defense doesnt cross examine witnesses before a grand jury because someone really really smart told him that once and he refused to admit his error.

Yup stupid. So answer this stupid question smart guy? What exculpatory evidence during this "inquiry" has been allowed? Don't "Grand Juries" weigh all evidence before deciding to indict?

Yes they do. So if this is similar to a Grand Jury proceeding as your smart buddy @countryroads89 suggested, why isn't the intel committee weighing or allowing any exculpatory evidence presented?

Are you smart enough to answer that, or will your silence demonstrate your own stupidity?

Hey folks want another little "tip" why Nancy won't call an impeachment vote (besides the fact Schiff has no case)?

There are roughly 40 Democrat seats that got her to a Majority and speaker. Those were in districts Trump won. Those voters don't want him impeached and they're NOT at all convinced he's guilty of any crimes.

Nancy won't risk those seats by calling for her representatives to vote for an impeachment. She knows if she pisses those voters off, she's not coming back as speaker.

No vote.

If you don't know it already, impeachment is as much a political process as Constitutional and legal. You don't successfully build political support for one by holding "secret" testimony, or leaking your most compelling case for it to the media.

You hold open hearings, include all sides, show your evidence to the public and build your strongest political case for it. Dems are doing the exact opposite, trying to build political support for it in secret and using the media to make their case instead of hard evidence.

Won't work. If they have a case, they should take a vote. The fact that they won't is proof they have nothing.

The day DJT gets re elected will melt left faces. And it will be DJT appointing 3 maybe more justices to the Supreme Court. I see no Dem candidates that can win. Just no charisma or Character. The Senate will not put DJT out of office, the chance to make lasting impact on our country is too great. It will be even sweeter if the house swings back Republican.

I'm going to put you to a little "test" of loyalty.

In post #4 of this thread @countryroads89 called me "dumb" for suggesting the real reason Nancy won't take a vote on impeachment (formally or otherwise) is because she doesn't have the votes.

@countryroads89 has said Pelosi already has the votes she needs to pass an impeachment. I say she doesn't have those votes, because if she did she would have voted to make this inquiry formal.

She didn't do that because it would open up the "inquiry" to all sorts of due process rules and procedures which would include Republicans instead of all this "secret" testimony, denial of minority members to call their own witnesses or even read full transcripts.

If Nancy had the evidence & the votes, none of this would be necessary, and a vote would be scheduled to make this a formal process as well as a committee vote set to get this damning evidence to the floor for a final vote to impeach Trump as soon as possible.

I'm saying she doesn't have the votes or the evidence, that's why she won't call for it.

Who's right. @countryroads89 or yours truly?

Here's another scoop folks why Nancy doesn't dare take a House vote to impeach. The case then goes to the Senate, where her House managers (still un-designated as of today) would prosecute the case before the Jury (all 100 Senators)

Guess what the rules call for? Jurors (ie: Senators) MUST remain silent during the trial! In other words, they can't go out there "commenting" on the case, or making speeches about it while the trial is underway. Just like a normal court.

Well, if this vote is taken anytime after Christmas guess what? There are no fewer than five Democrat Senators currently running for the party's Presidential nomination who would have to suspend their campaigns just as primaries get underway and sit silent for the months/weeks ahead during this trial! That's right, even with primaries approaching or underway, they couldn't go out there and campaign for the votes they've been working for more than a year to collect.

They'd have to stay in session, shut up, and sit there quietly until asked to vote on the presented evidence. Look at the list who'd be so pissed at Nancy if she sent an impeachment case to the Senate during the Democrat primary season:

  • Senator Cory Booker
  • Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (dropped out)
  • Senator Kamala Harris
  • Senator Amy Klobuchar
  • Senator Elizabeth Warren
  • Senator Bernie Sanders
Any chance Nancy rains on their Presidential parade during the crucial early Democrat primary season? Any chance they let her?

Not a chance. No vote.

You shoukd have put a date on your bet with Whitey McBlackson.

The reality of the political calendar will do that for me Dave. First (when we made the bet) Dems were insisting this needed to be wrapped up by Thanksgiving. Well they've come off that now, and claim it'll all be done by Christmas. However as I've pointed out, the current legislative session doesn't contain enough days for this to be done anytime after Thanksgiving, so we're already into the next legislative session.

Guess what happens starting in February '20? Democrat primaries. Those Senators are gonna be ticked off if they have to sit through a pointless impeachment trial in which Trump is going to be acquitted anyway while they miss their chance at his job. Nancy won't do it. She can't!

Patience my friend. Time is on my side to win this bet. There isn't going to be any impeachment vote.

Schiff is running a giant scam, he's out of touch and running out of time.

She would also lose her Speakership! Dems LOVE power. They crave it. When they get it, they don't like giving it up. Nancy likes flinging that gavel around. She doesn't want to loose it next year. She will if she schedules an impeachment vote and forces 40 members of her caucus who won in Trump districts in '18 to vote to impeach him. He'll be acquitted in the Senate anyway cause Dems don't have a case. They won't vote with her if she does that. They like their cushy jobs too.

No vote.
