join the AAC. Now hear me out before crucifying me. I say Add WVU and Old Dominion to the AAC. What this does is add a a recognizable name (WVU) and a big market and fertile recruiting area (Norfolk) to the AAC . This would also propel the AAC into a power conference so they would have a seat at the table as far as playoff spots go. Now WVU would where they belong back on the East coast playing in areas where they once did. The conferences would be

North South
West Virginia. Central Florida
Temple. Memphis
South Florida. Houston
Cincinnati. SMU
UCONN. Tulsa
ODU. Tulane
East Carolina. Navy

The North would have
WVU - pretty solid football history constant bowl team
East Carolina - with coach Houston there they will be a contender in a few short years
South Florida- very good coach and stable program
Cincy- seems to have more good years than bad ones
Temple- has become a solid and tough program
ODU- big market and deep recruiting talent pool
UCONN- every Confernce has that one team

The south would have
Central Florida - one of the best teams out there. Can play with anyone
Memphis- has become a good program. Often hold their own against SEC teams
Houston- big market and Holgy will have them playing at a high level. Deep recruiting area too
Navy - triple option nightmare
SMU- seems to be stuck as a .500 type team but in a good are for players
Tulsa - has struggled but I the near past has had great seasons
Tulane- great academics, so so football

A WVU vs Central Florida championship game would be awesome. Plus the drive to these schools a hell of a lot better

At the cost of 40 million a year it doesnt seem to make sense.
I think this conference gets a TV deal due to the cities that are in the Confernce

Philly
Houston
Norfolk
Dallas
Memphis
Tampa
Cincy
Orlando
Navy is a national team

Also have the Confernce championship at either

Washington Redskins stadium
Jacksonville Jags stadium
Tennessee Titans stadium

Pretty good venues

If all this was such a winning idea, the other power 5 schools would have done it.

I think the potential could be very very high
This Confernce already gives the PAC 12 a run and might be deeper are far as quality teams goes.

ECU has beaten NC State and UNC in the past few years and will only get better with Coach Houston
Memphis has played with and beaten SEC schools
Houston beat Oklahoma a few years ago and is spending serious $$$$$' on football
Temple has been more than solid
Central Florida has what 7 points away from 26-0
Navy has a national following
South Florida has had good seasons and Strong is a very good coach
Cincy won a good amount of games last year and usually is very good
WVU strong past and good future

So I think this Confernce could be. Winner

I think that changes with
Central Florida continues to win big and brings eyeballs to the Confernce
East Carolina contends with UNC and NC State as the best team in NC
Houston continues to spend $$$$ and wins 8-10 games a year
Memphis keeps giving SEC schools fits
Temple continues to be tough and solid
South Florida grows under Strong
Navy has a national following
Cincy becomes constant 8 win team

Bring in WVU and its rabid fan base and poof now you have a perfect storm. Say WVU vs Central Florda championship game brings new flavor to college football.

I think this is a better set up than going to Aimes Iowa any day of the week. Also WVU is not an outlier team in some Confernce that has nothing in common with them. Travel would be so much better and old rivalries would burn bright again and new ones would burn brighter

I’m fairly close to going all in on your thread but how do you reconcile walking away from 30 mill per year. I hate the Big12 so sell me sammy! Damn it man get me there!!!

@TownesVanZandt
@WVUFanForever

I need your help. Is sammy an idiot or is he on to something. Could WVU be a flagship that can deliver a big ticket TV and network channel deal? WVU was the last pick from the Big East. Have things changed?
On the surface as you’ll noticed I thought he was an up and comer trolltard. I figured I’d ask you guys because Texass has an opinion about everything and he googles constantly. Of course wvucuckfanforever is Texass’ cuck so I didn’t want you standing on the outside. I figured you’d want to get inside and see what was going on with Texass.

Thoughts?

Marketing you have the AAC filed with teams that all have chips on their shoulders
Central Florida - stepped over even though they are one of the best teams in the land
Cincy - Ohio States little brother
WVU - outlier of the Big 12
Houston- tricked to think they were going to the Big 12 just do Texas could steal their coach
Temple - in PSU shadow
SMU - overlooked for TCU
Memphis- SEC location but not even Tennesee thinks that they are part of Tennesee

Good hungry coaches with a few out for redemption
Brown WVU ready to make that jump
Houston ECU. Has won everywhere he has been not time for FBS
Strong SFL. Looking for redemption after Texas
Fickle Cincy comes from The Ohio State and knows Ohio looking to make a splash
Norvel Memphis winning record as a coach wants to have a seat at the table of other SE coaches
Carey Temple comes from Northen Illinios where he won a ton of games as the head coach
Holgy Houston. Looking to fulfill that 4million dollar contract with wins

Talented areas for recruits
Orland and Tampa - Florida hotbeds
Houston - most fertile recruiting grounds in Texas plus real close to LA state line
Dallas - another fertile ground
Norfolk - best area in VA
Memephis tons of athletes
Temple - that are at of PA and NJ. Has some of the best players in America
North Carolina - 10 best state for recruits

So with all that you will have teams trying to prove it every week because of all of those reasons and. When they get that chance to play a team from the BIG , SEC, ACC B12 they will swing for the fences and have the coaching and talent to connect

And I was just throwing out possible places to play the Confernce championship game to where fans would travel to

It wont change. Period. None of those teams draw locally. It would cost WVU 500 million dollars or more.

Make the focus of the Confernce WVU and Central Florida with supporting teams like South Florida Houston, Temple, Memhis, Cincy. Could make for good rivalries. Plus Navy plays in the Army Navy game so they are always watched

Sounds like Greggy talking to himself.

Should have more important things to do.

Anyone with any idea about WV knows what WV wants.
It is not the American
A chance to make it to the College playoff is what I think what WVU fans would want. Remember the Big East was locked out until they added a few teams and then they had an opportunity. I think that happens here. And with the conference less likely to expand there's teams don't get plucked

And my question about the gazillion dollars you guys are getting from the B12. How is that working. How is your Football and basketball teams doing? We're they more or less competitive before or after the B12

WVU fans....

Don't drive the car.
The University itself does and the university would never put themselves in the AAC unless it was absolutely the only choice.

That pretty much means that WV is forever left in the dirt.
Only people who would want that are probably rivals of WV.

Well of you are fishing for info here you go. I am from Greene county PA. Right above WVU. My great uncle played with Sam Huff back in the 50's. I eat pepperoni rolls. Went to my share of WVU games in the 80's and 90's. Ate wings at Crocketts and Boston Beanery. Not a WVU per say but not an hater either

That's what they said about Miami of FL in 1979
Its ok to dream. This idea is ridiculous IMO. There is nothing good about taking a massive step backwards as a program. This is the kind of thing a Marshall fan would dream up.

A hell of a lot better than teams left out of the power 5 like Cincy and Uconn. Any more questions?

Come on Greg...stop using retard as a derogatory term!..You do it constantly and it is getting annoying. There are folks out there with real issues that struggle everyday and then some dipshit calls them retard. Poor form man.

Lighten up dipshit. I’ll stop and if it hits home with you apologies. If you’re flying the high moral flag spare me the drama and GFY. There’s all kind of crap on this site that if taken seriously would be awful. I’ve been called just about everything on this site. There have been offensive remarks alienating race, pedo victims and gender just to name a few. It’s all good but I’m not following one set of rules whiles others follow their own. No worries though I acknowledge your request.

Of course WVU would never and should never leave for a non P5. Texass you know my style better than this. WVU belongs in the ACC. Have you ever seen me post otherwise. Stop being an amateur every time someone trolls.

If it's such a great Idea then why didn't the Big 12 invite Houston, UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis or UCONN to join the Big 12?

It's because they're not worth the effort or draw that WVU is.

40 million > 10 million.
