lol. Nice Clutch reference in a World Cup thread. To quote one of my favorite lines from any song, in this case "Subtle Hustle" by Clutch, "I've got your mother's maiden name tattooed on my arm."
Somebody had to add something redeeming to a soccer thread.lol. Nice Clutch reference in a World Cup thread.
I dont know if it is good that I have come to like soccer as much as any sport not NCAA football and Hoops or if it is a testament to just how bad other aports have become.Somebody had to add something redeeming to a soccer thread.
My opinion on the subject, whatever good that is which it isn't much. If one loves sports (which I think we both do), if there is something that attracts you to the sport in which it triggers a certain appreciation for it, becoming a fan is easy. Conversely, if something happens to turn one off, even though you may still watch it, interest does wane.I dont know if it is good that I have come to like soccer as much as any sport not NCAA football and Hoops or if it is a testament to just how bad other aports have become.
I dont watch the NFL like I once did. Mostly because it feels like they have made the game so much softer with rules changes. My opinion on the subject, whatever good that is which it isn't much. When baseball went on strike in 1994, I swore I was done with them. And for the most part, I didn't watch much. Past 6 or 7 years, I have finally come back as a fan.I dont watch the NFL like I once did. Mostly because it feels like they have made the game so much softer with rules changes.
I still haven’t come back. I used to be a huge Red’s fan but the 1-2-3 punch of Marge Schmitt, Pete Rose, and the strike knocked me out for good. When baseball went on strike in 1994, I swore I was done with them. And for the most part, I didn't watch much. Past 6 or 7 years, I have finally come back as a fan.
Honestly baseball has made strides using technology that have helped. Replay in MLB seems to be a good thing and all the ball strike technology plus the batted ball technology has made the game a little better IMO.When baseball went on strike in 1994, I swore I was done with them. It's best be a zebra and blend into the crowd.........LMAO!
Says the lard *** who can't run 100 yards.

Shew, nothing worse than people who suck at comedy trying to be funny.
I’ll introduce myself to solve you being a bastard, the implication being I’m your daddy or more crassly put, I fvcked your mother and laid my seed in her.
I have no ill will towards you, why would I want to cause you harm? I drive a large truck because I’m overcompensating for my small Irish penis. I have a lot of guns that I barely shoot anymore because I can.
It would have been 4 years ago but european teams have put a lit of money into the ladiea game for theae olympics. The absence of Brazil and. Japan has to still be a bit of a surprise. I will look up the ladies fifa rankings.Of the 8 teams in the quarterfinals, 7 European and the USA. Is that surprising to those that follow the sport? I know Japan and Korea and some South American teams are typically strong but I find it surprising.
I will look it up.Interesting. Off topic a little, you see Rooney's 90 foot goal last night in MLS play? I love those but boy, the goalie has to feel like crap when they get beat on those type of shots.
Oh, I would have liked to have seen that! I'll go watch that highlight. I watched the Atlanta United game on my second TV last night.I will look it up.
I watched USA-Panama last night. Altidore had the game winner on a bicycle kick.
Probably says more about women and opportunity in the West, than skill.Of the 8 teams in the quarterfinals, 7 European and the USA. Is that surprising to those that follow the sport? I know Japan and Korea and some South American teams are typically strong but I find it surprising.
A lot of the big football clubs in Europe have added womens teams and womens development in their schools so that will probably push it further along.Probably says more about women and opportunity in the West, than skill.
Ive thought all along it will come down to England vs the USA\France winnerEngland looks awfully strong

Haven’t hated itHere is a question for you soccer fans. JP Dellecambre has done all the play by play for the USA games so far in the World Cup. He has done soccer for years and did the Atlanta Thrasher TV broadcasts before that NHL franchise moved to Winnepeg a few years back. I was a huge Thrasher fan and was involved in the social media and boy, the fanbase hated JP. I didn't think he was that bad doing hockey and didn't deserve the negative comments.
What do you think of JP doing soccer?
Yes. Shes had a great tourney though.Dave, 3 goals in 2 matches. She still overrated?
They took all that added pressure of wearing the armband off her today and she responded with 2 goals.Dave, 3 goals in 2 matches. She still overrated?

PKs are so difficult. Cry some more. She had two goals last match genius
You wouldn’t make 3-10. And they are pretty difficult at that level.PKs are so difficult. Cry some more.
So difficult that PKs are about 75% successful in the mens game when there are actual athletes in goalYou wouldn’t make 3-10. And they are pretty difficult at that level.
In last 25 years I have developed a real appreciation for soccer...in my opinion Dunn was a big contributor to the American team today. For some reason both the American men and women lack both skill and technical understanding of the game (though improving)...but the effort of the women as a team is second to none.I dont know if it is good that I have come to like soccer as much as any sport not NCAA football and Hoops or if it is a testament to just how bad other aports have become.
Especially considering backer is not her preferred position.
