Wrong. The coverage is limited. It can be difficult to prove. The nature of loss of value claims are inherently speculative, ie the damages are harder to establish. Not all damages are compensable under the policy. Moreover, the coverage is expensive.
Plus, if you have to file suit, there are attorney fees, costs and if lucky a settlement at a compromised amount. If no settlement, trial is uncertain at best. The person bringing the claims bears the burden of proving the damages.
Insurance companies are in the business of trying to pay as little as possible to get out of claims. There are no guarantees.

To say these guys should just buy insurance and then play and there’s no big downside risk is plain wrong. But you don’t want to hear that because it doesn’t fit your agenda or your preconceived conclusion. Loss of value or diminished value is nothing like making a claim for a damaged roof. It is more speculative and thus inherently harder to prove as a matter of fact and law. I wish Will was playing as a fan. As a father, I understand and respect his decision to provide for his family. It may not turn out to be the best decision for his draft status- who knows. But he’s doing what he feels is best for his family. And it’s his decision. He did a ton of great work for wvu from which wvu derived a lot of economic benefit. The ncaa system is what it is.

it can be like dealing with an insurance adjustor to pay for damage on a roof.....it has to meet the guidelines but at the end of the day you might have to fight for you money but you will still get it....Loylds of London policies are for more then just athletes

I’ll give you this, Geno has a better arm. I would argue there aren’t 10 QBs in the NFL with a better one. Geno’s Issue is that he makes terrible decisions because he was never given a chance to grow into an NFL starter.

Will makes better decisions and has far better touch...those things matter more than if you can throw it 50 yards while kneeling at midfield.

I think you are right about Geno. His arm is one of the best ive seen in college. Some of those throws to Stedman were just incredible.

But like you said, its not just about your arm.

The truth is we dont really know, because so few policies have paid out. But anyone who has been around the insurance business knows they arent shelling out 10 million.

A loss of value is very subjective, which makes establishing the worth incredibly difficult.

The point is that the insurance isnt something to depend on. Its your last hope when everything else goes sideways.

“Will” is his first name , not his position on defense.

Our whole defense is playing which I feel is his audition for being our DC next year. If we get smoked, I believe we can render a decision on Gibby whether or not Grier plays.

If our offense gets crushed by an average defense and our QBs look awful then the onus is on Dana (our OC next year) to get a top QB transfer or else.

In other words, even a team without Grier doesn’t exclude our ability to figure out some things. I think it will be helpful to not have Will bail out a potentially bad game plan.
If no insurance company every pays then why to kids buy these policies every year? Its because they do pay. The problem is how much(which its seems we all agree on).

Maybe this issue is a generational thing(and im past 50) but as I said from the start those that are for Will leaving are the ones that would be ok with their kid leaving a travel ball team when they no longer have a use. My opinion when you take into account the way Will left Florida that its all about him

The correct and classy thing to do would have been to make Grier and Sills co-offensive players of the year for WVU. They were a tandem for 2 seasons. What the staff did was petty and punitive. Grier gave them 2 outstanding seasons. Dana was fortunate that Grier chose WVU when he left Florida. And the PED shot was nasty. Grier said it was in cough medicine suggested by the pharmacist. I don't know. You don't know. Painting him as a druggie is mean. Grier gave me 2 great seasons of WVU football. I thank him for that. This bashing crap after a guy leaves the team is for the birds. Once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineer. Grier. Rich. Terry.

Now, let's enjoy the Syracuse bowl game as an early peek at the 2019 team.

Once again it never ceases to amaze me that people on this board want to make financial decisions for other people.

Will Grier owes you nothing. Not one damn thing.

Then why did florida push him out the door for drinking cough meds?

btw, the "Once A Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer" went out the door when the fan base trashed Bill Stewart.

Im not painting him as a druggie, I just think he needs to learn to be a team player.

Travel sports are a vanity. Who cares.

You are a entitled old man who thinks Will Grier owes him something...you can sit and burp on your couch while some else plays quarterback and entertains you.

He's not trying to learn life lessons, this is his career. As a young man who is already married with a kid is say his stakes are higher than most.

You keep pounding this example, but Will is at the precipice of being a professional. Would you be so adamant about loyalty if it were an intern on a corporate work team that decided to bail in order to protect his/her upcoming job offer? When it comes to one's livelihood, I don't see any reason to eat a **** sandwich unless there is mutual benefit.

Darth_VadEER......................well, you did say 'entertains' you. Sports in general is entertainment for the spectator. The Mountaineers provided a thrill a minute this year and for that I shout them out. I hope they continue to 'entertain' in the CWB game and bring us a real W. Warez

You dont understand how it works.

The senior bowl is part of the draft process.
BS.
Many kids get drafted who NEVER play in this game. It offered similar risks to the bowl. IF the contention is to avoid injury by missing the bowl (a game that DOES have meaning since it includes representing the school that has supported and funded during the career plus the idea of being a "TEAM" with the others with whom there has been training, and much camaraderie) then there is NO logic to playing in the E/W game where the risks still exists and none of the team with University connection. The argument for skipping the bowl falls apart instantly upon agreeing to play in the E/W game. No way to spin it otherwise.

Not even sure why we should play the bowl! Everyone says its worthless

Thats subjective.

For me its a few hours of entertainment. For the players its an opportunity to have a fun trip, a fun experience. So it has meaning and worth.

It just lacks much consequence. For certain players, like Allison it is an opportunity to improve your status on the team.

Imo, having Allison start makes it more interesting.

I cant figure out why you fragile couch potatoes are so rattled.

WVU is ranked team playing another ranked team in a bowl game, a former rival. Will Grier has moved on with his life.

Everything is fine.

AllEers 6 is spot on IMHO. Will quit on his team. And another thought in the Senior Bowl he might get
a series or two. In the Bowl he'd play the whole thing. He ended his career as a member of the
Mountaineers by fumbling away two wins. In the ISU game he held the ball two long numerous times. Notice I
wrote a member of the Mountaineers - did not write a Mountaineers - to me he's just not.

You play the season - Sills as MVP says it all. Now I don't Will to get hurt and miss a shot at the NFL. But it would
not make me sad if he tripped over his daughter's baby carraige and missed the NFL combine.

Now that the awards have come out and the Offensive MVP went to Sills I think its pretty simple. Will Grier was in Morgantown just long enough to pad his resume to get to the NFL. Look back, if it were not for the hand injury he would have left last year. WVU was just a stepping stone to get him to his goal. Being an NFL QB is a about Leadership, and Will got kicked off his team at Florida for using PED's and he left WVU the first time he had a chance. I appreciate the memories and what he did for the program but I just feel used.

btw, for all those that think Will should have stayed because he had nothing to prove, well, your the parent or family that takes there kid off of a travel baseball or AAU team because the team no longer fits you or your child's personal needs. Its called doing the right the thing!

Having said all that lets get behind Allsion go beat Syracuse.

I agree. Good QB, not great, who is OK with his last game at WVU being one in which he personally gave OU 14 points on fumbles. If Allison knows how to throw the ball away, or just tuck it and take the sack, he will be just fine.

The last sentense says it all about you and your clan.

With fans like you, WVU will never need enemies.

You are ignorant, and small. Too old to change and you won't get smarter as you sink further into your couch.

He decommitted from USC, too.
